I am thinking of buying a 1990 white with tan m3 with 94k miles. The motor is shot with a "thrown rod and damaged crankshaft. The car is in otherwise excellent shape with a somewhat unknown but accident free history. Shiny paint, no dings, everything works.
Im hoping to rebuild the engine but if thats not possible then maybe a s50 transplant or a built s14. Any thoughts on the value of this car would be appreciated. I will only do it if I can get it for cheap. He is asking 6k. thx

Well.. It's a $10-12k car if it's nice and running well, how much is a nice used engine professionally installed gonna cost? $5K probably?

$4k is more in line I think.

I lost interest after running a carfax and seeing that it was totalled back in 1991. Thx tho!
