Opinions anybody?

The shocks are some of the best on the market, k-mac camber plates are also good. I hear the ground control coil over kit is nice from some people who have it. They are probably the best deal on the market for coil overs, and they use Eibach springs which are top of the line as well. I want to get this setup for my car someday. It looks like a pretty good deal:

A set of Bilstien sport shocks = $400
Ground control coil over kit = $400
not sure about the camber plates $...

The only thing I would worry about is the spring rates selected by the p.o. You can select your own spring rate with that kit, and he may have had a different purpose for his car than you have for yours...

That's true about the spring rates, if you could find that out before you buy it that would be good.

The thing that has me wondering is that it says its for a 2002 or 320i and both of these cars have completely different suspension setups and the parts are not interchangeable between the models.

The coilovers will work on any car, however and this is a big However, In the really really really fine print that's so small that you can't even read it, because its not there. Coilover setups usually need to be custom fabricated for the vehicle. Especially on vehicles with strut type suspension. The rear suspension of E21's are simple, however I had to make some rather large modifications to the struts to get my ground control suspension setup correctly.

How exactly did you have to modify your struts? Cut off the lower spring perch? Cutting and welding doesn't bother me, I'm just curious...

If you plan on lowering the car with the coilovers more then a 1 inch drop, depending on spring rates you will bottom out the suspension on the top of the strut during normal driving.

In order to drive at a much lower ride height, I installed Koni 8641-1198 adjustable shocks from a Camaro and made a 3 inch steel spacer to sit at the bottom of the front struts to hold the shock up. The shock itself still did not reach the top of the strut, which is what I wanted. I measured the distance of the shock travel inside the strut, which was about 1 5/8's inches. I cut off the lower spring perch, smoothed it out, used a pipe cutter and cut and sectioned a 1 5/8's section of the strut out, then rewelded the strut housing back together with a new lower spring perch that was supplied by ground control

You would need to cut the section below the threaded coller area so you can keep that area original, and you would want to cut it below the lower spring perch area, that way you can get the coil over into place. Depending on the length of the coilover, you would want the coilover to be flush with the top of the strut, so its not overhanging in to the suspension travel.

I read the decription and to me it sounds like it only comes with (2) struts.
He pictures rear shocks so im thinking you dont get the front inserts.

So the value of the shocks would be around $200 if not less.

I have this setup in my car, it was on the car when I bought it, so I cant vouch for any details of installation, but the car handles very well.
