View Full Version : 323i fw...
I have acess to a e21 323i fw and need to know if it is a canidate for my s52/e30 swap. I read that the 323i fw is a up-grade/direct replacement for the 325i single mass fw (uses 228mm clutch) which is used for the s52 swap when using the 260 getrag tranny.
Thank You all in advance. :)

kdanie 05-16-2005, 03:20 PM OHHH, It's a lazy youngster "rice boy" thing-using the first letters of a part like rsm for rear shock mounts....
E30sd: I'm in no mood today to discuss my IQ but I would bet $$$ you would loose...

e30sd 05-16-2005, 03:32 PM whoa there cowboy, i know you're a header man and all, but it doesn't take a college graduate to infer that fw = flywheel after only spending a few seconds reading the post above.
i blame the schools...
kdanie,
I thought "fw" was a common shortening of flywheel, and this lazy "youngster" is deployed to Iraq and can't try this his damn self, hence the reason for this post.
And where did you get the idea that I'm a "ricer" the only car I've ever really driven was a 325is.
If your not going to help FUCK OFF!!

Relax, if your not going to contribute to any good in this forum I suggest you take your own advice, attitudes like yours are not welcome in this forum, it was a simple misunderstanding on his part.
e30sd 05-16-2005, 03:56 PM herb,
if you're using a 260, just use the e30 flywheel. its already single mass, and can be lightened inexpensively. mine is shaved to 11 lbs, and was less then 80 bucks. several locals have used a 260 w/ this flywheel when doing there 24v swaps, and its works fine. i could only see it being a problem if you chose to build a crazy motor or went FI. but NA, it should be more than adequate.
edit: iirc all the getrag's in the 6 cyl cars were 228mm assembly. the 4 bangers were 215, and the bigger ZF boxes in the e36 m3 used the 240mm.
kdanie 05-16-2005, 04:01 PM I'm already over it, maybe I'm just having a bad day... Good luck with your deployment in Iraq, I have several friends over there as we speak- I am about to retire as an E9 with over 28 yrs experience and have spent quite a bit of that time overseas... I have collected "hostile fire pay" myself in central and south America.

I apologize, gentlemen, bad day.
Ken, Looked at your other posts, currious what kind of guy you are, and see that you seem like a good guy. No hard feelings realy.
Herb
My dad was an E8, picked up for SMG and decided to retire instead. So to you I am a youngster, E-5 looking at E-6 in next couple of months. Good day SMG.
