My girlfriend is telling me her feet are getting burned while sitting in the passenger seat by a slightly blowing source of heat. I'm thinking maybe my switches for the heater are stuck in a position or disconnected and still on heat?
The third lever over from the driver seat is stuck and can't be moved by a half inch or so
Any ideas?

Sounds like the water valve is stuck open, happens often with these. '80-'83 is in the engine compartment. '77-'79 is WAY up under the dash and a booger to get at.

Any knowledge you can send my way on how I can fix/replace this?
It's summer time, my AC has been removed, and my car likes to blow hot air on the feet ... ouch

I just had this problem. Anyway, there is a cable connected to the far right switch. it connects to the valve part. Anyway, when I had this problem. The cable wasn't sitting right and when I turned the knob it didn't push down on the level to close to valve. Find the cable and move it around while you turn the knob....
The thing I just realized is, it did the same thing for me when I took out the AC. The cable kinda drops down more because it was sitting right with the AC parts in. So I just taped the cable to the other cable.. And it worked.
