I'm alloting 2grand for rims and tires. I'm not even sure if I should keep the staggered setup I have now or change it to an unstaggered config.

1) What benefits do you see with going up in size. ex: 18's?
2) What are any side effects of going up in size?
3) Will I need to do this fender rolling thing I hear about if I go up in size?
4) Is the current config I have the best for street use (staggered with 17's)?

Now:

As you can see my car is silver. I like the polished look of the silver rims but I don't want to be too BLING BLING if you know what I mean. The stock look isn't doing it for me anymore.

Can anyone with a silver car give me some ideas and maybe post a few pics?

What would you get for 2grand. It goes without saying that I don't want to cut costs and want to get STRONG & LIGHT rims...

1. Benefits of 18's, with lesser sidewall, turn it will feel more immediate, and if you go wider as well, could increase traction, and subjectively, the 18's fill the wheel well up more and look better/cooler.

2. It will ride harder, the chances of damaging a wheel on a put hole or regular streets goes up, tires will cost more each you go to replace them, less rwhp to the ground (only minor, though), there's a chance it will wear out some suspension parts quicker due to the harder ride.

3. Most likley not, unless you also go with super wide rims in the 18" sizes...

4. You'll get a variety of opinions on this one. Me, I like the fatter rubber in the rear cuz with my power I can have traction issues upon take off. Folks like Greg with his M Coupe, swear by going wide out back, he claims it has increased his handling a great deal. Some say it induces pushing in corners if the rear is much large than the fronts, so I would not recommend going to 285's on the rear and leaving the fronts at 225's...

As far as examples and more opinions, rukman is your man, he has lots of pics of wheels, lots of experience with choosing the right sizes, etc...
