Would sway bars from a 79 and earlier e21 fit on an 83. I can pick up a set of dinan front and rear sway bars but the guy claims that they will only fit pre 79. Thanks for any help.

Has anyone ever heard feedback on dinan swaybars. My original plan was to get a "is" sway bar and get som urethane bushings from e21parts. net but I figured dinans would be stiffer than the "is" sway bars. Any opinions. Thanks

I have an 80 iS and just put on the E12 parts front arms, their setup makes the sway bar a lotttt :redspot stiffer then it was before I changed the front arms. With the nut tight the bushing in the arm itself loses about 40 to 50% of its movement which is a great thing for handling.

As far as the dinan sway bar I have no experience with them.

Depends on the production date. Early E21's up to 9/79 will not work since the control arm geometry is different. Anything after that will work just fine. Rears are all the same.

So to answer the question, Yes and No.

Does anyone know anything about the Dinan sway bars any better or worse than the is sway bars?

I heard that they are very good. I have the front bar and its 27mm i believe.
The rear bard I do not have.

I also have a Dinan adjustable rear subframe on its way.

As far as those DINAN bars Oldschool if you do not want them,
I would be very interested in them.

AS I am looking for a rear DINAN bar to match my front.

thanks

Oldschool, I have the front DINAN bar and it says 79-83 e21 bmw on the instruction booklet.

Unless the front DINAN swaybar is made for a specific, pre 79 e21 there is a good chance its the same. Only dinan would know for sure.

Or I could swap you...the pre 79 front swaybar, for my 79- 83 one.
