Since I have installed my 90amp alternator about a month ago an interesting thing happens. When the car is started the volts stay at a constant 11v. It will stay like this until I blip the throttle to 4k rpm where it immediatly jumps to 14v. If I dont do this it will stay at 11v and all the power options are retareded due to this. The odd thing is that it starts just fine.
And another thing is that it only does this when its cold, if I start the car if it has been sitting for an hour or so it doesnt have the problem and stays at its normal 14v.
Any ideas on my problem? The belt is nice and snug and it has a brand new voltage regulator and belt, the alt was tested before it was installed and all checked out perfectly. My only idea is to do a trial of loosening the belt and then tighten it to see if this solves the problema...
TIA
