Well it's not Abe this time.

Andy

That's a fully built B18C5 motor. It's putting down 230whp. I think he still has some more mods to put on it.

One day....one day an ITR will be mine. :help

Better hurry up and find a white one before they are all wrapped around trees or fitted with the spec green underbody neon.

No kidding. :(

I either want a completely stock ITR (Year doesn't matter) or a theft recovery. The later is more likely. :rolleyes

I wouldn't feel as bad tracking a theft recovery nor would I feel hesitant to put a fully built B20 block with a B18 head in it.

didnt that guy just get beat by an integra?

It's an Acura.. isn't there a difference? :stickoutt

Other then it being FWD, I'd buy one.

I didnt want to waste my gas on some riceboy so I was just cruising.

My car wasnt warmed up yet so I wasnt pushing it.

My car is new, once it breaks in I will be able to beat him bad.

I havent changed my oil in awhile.

My intake filter is dirty.

I started in the wrong gear.

I misshifted.

Im not used to SMG.

SMG shifts slow.

I spun through the entire race.

If I had had traction, I would have killed him.

His car sounds like a bumble bee.

His car is a stripped out ricemobile.

My interior is nicer.

Which car would you rather have?

Im sure he wishes he could afford an M3.

My car gets the ladies.

I would have had him in the twisties.

His car is an overpriced Honda.

I drove home in a BMW.

wow. Was the M3 trying? If so that integra is fast. Are integras that light that the bmw's +/- 60 whp is made up for?

He'd take him in the twisties.

The ITR is about 2650 pounds with 190 horsepower at 8000 rpm on a race-biased factory suspension.

Yeah, he was trying. The M3 driver was the ITR owner's friend.

The ITR is about 2650 pounds with 190 horsepower at 8000 rpm on a race-biased factory suspension.

195hp...bu who's counting. :stickoutt

The ITR driver was shifting past 9000 rpm too.

Taking it to the streetZzzz..where it belongZ.

jterp
05-11-2005, 11:35 PM
well obviously that one has a bit more than 195 hp... 11.40 in the quarter is fast -- it'd have to have almost 300 at the wheels i'd think, right?

Andy
05-11-2005, 11:54 PM
Yeah, 195 is the stock crank hp rating. This ITR is putting out 230whp. Not bad for an all motor, 2.0L 4cyl setup.

I wonder if it can take a Cobra. :confused :stickoutt

dcardenas
05-12-2005, 01:14 AM
all motor, 2.0L 4cyl setup.

:cool

I wonder if his mods/gains would be applicable to a 1.9l...

GolGotha999
05-12-2005, 08:01 AM
So he raced an Integra that had a professionally built and tuned motor (according to the credits in the movie) against a stock 2k5 M3. :rolleyes

Put that much work into the M3..and....and..it would probably still get beat :stickoutt

At least he took it to the streetzZz, where it belongzZz :buttrock

ok -- so back to my original question -- why would the M3 with 60 more whp get blown away by that car? How does 230 whp and 2650 lbs equate to 11.4 in the quarter mile?

:confused

You didn't take into consideration... VTEC!!!
With VTEC, anything is possible.

Maybe the car is stripped? I still don't see how you get a NA 2.0 into the 11's with a car weighing 2200+ pounds, but the videos are pretty impressive.

It doesn't. Even 300hp S2000s won't do 11 second quarter miles. Not even close.

So, obviously something else has been done to the car.

Oh, I didn't see that. I know he thinks it is a mid to high 12 sec car.

If you read that thread link I posted, he still has more work going into that car.

I dont see why not if he thinks it will run mid-12's. Also take into consideration the 4.90's he has in it. That is fairly ludicrous gearing.

Well, don't take my word for it. I posted the liink to the guy who owns the ITR, which also has the owner of the M3 posting too. The M3 owners name is Len. Email them to hear it from their mouths.

I can't believe you are still a nonbeliever even after your first encounter with VTEC at VIR. :rolleyes

179whp. I think it has a little more that can be squeezed out.

I thought I was done modding my Prelude. Now I want to get a header to see if I can get to 200whp. :help
