chicagovelocity.com Meet/BBQ
Saturday, June 18th
Noon - Sundown
Deer Grove Forest Preserve
North of Quentin/Dundee Intersection, Palatine
We have a permit for this meet, so there's no fear in getting kicked out. There's enough parking for 150-200 cars. This is a rain or shine event, we'll be there no matter what. There is a shelter in our area with seating and lots of grass area. Our area is at the very end of the north branch of the preserve, please see maps.
We will have the grills going with burgers and whatnot. We will have food/drink, but if you want to bring something, you're welcome to. Alcohol must be consumed 50 feet from the parking area, so be sure not to drink by the cars. If you bring beer, make sure it's in a can, the forest preserve doesn't allow glass bottles on their property. If you're under 21, don't plan on getting drunk.
The obvious:
# No fighting (lol)
# No burnouts / Don't be an idiot with your car.
# If you plan on drinking, bring cans. Forest Preserve prohibits glass containers on their property.
# Don't get drunk and drive.
# Bring lawn chairs.
# Bring cameras.
# Wash your cars.
# Leave your attitudes/drama/animosity at home.
# If you don't want us to cook your food, bring a small grill.
Directions from West/South/East
Take I-90 or I-290 to Route 53 north. Exit at Dundee Road and head west to Quentin. Take Quentin north, entrance is on the left side (less than 1 mile) BEFORE Lake Cook Road.
