Just say "Sure I will be your whipping boy for free" and follow it up with a snappy "So how exactly do you take your coffee?" and it's yours!

Good luck champ.

oh its for an engineering internship with the Air Force. the interview went well. they said that the way their internships work is that unless i really screw up that i should be able to convert to a full time, full fledged engineer after a year. its a real good starting point for me.

Well, I guess I'm a little late.

I was going to tell you to mention that your nickname is 'Thong boy'

You'd be in for sure! ;)
(Unless they have a 'don't ask, don't tell policy too...)

it went pretty good i think. lasted about 20 minutes i believe. i think i made a good impression on the interviewers (yea i got interviewed by two people at the same time) and i think they liked my resume. i will be getting a call before the end of the week to tell either give me an offer or tell me if i am declined. i hope i get an offer.

oh i was going to tell them my nickname was thong boy but the interviewers were both male and i thought it would be a little ackward. if i dont get it then i know why.

I just started my career as an engineer. Even though I hated engineering while I was in school... the real world is 100x more interesting. Also your internship should give you some insight as to what you are really learning in school and how things apply. Or then again you might use none of it like me.
Best of luck to you!! The Airforce sounds like an awsome place to be at. What kind of engineering position is it?

well i know through out the summer, if selected, they will pair me with various electrical engineers that are working with different specialties (i.e. computer hardware design, signal processing, satellite communications, etc.). the interviewer said that i would probably work for each engineer for a little over a month before i am moved. Tinker AFB (the base here in OKC) is interesting because it is a maintenance base for bombers, including B-52s, B-1s, and the new B-2s, as well as home to AWACS and these cool Navy planes that are used to talk to submarines. anyways, there are a lot of things to learn and from what i understand it should be pretty hands on. im excited. oh and its paid too!

i actually just started liking my major after i started taking the upper division classes and labs. i heard i wont use any of it though but oh well.

haha well i do owe you a pitcher since you bought the first one at the first meet! :buttrock

i start on Monday the 23rd of this month. im pretty psyched. it is a GS-4 pay grade job. but it is more like a Co-Op than an internship from what they were telling me on the phone. after i put in a set amount of hours, then they will convert me to a full time entry level engineering position. i get full benefits too, which is good since in less than a year i will lose all my benefits from the government due to my dad's military service. ha and i dont work weekends so that is a plus!

thanks everyone. now all i need to complete my life is my BMWMOFO t-shirt (and black325isgirl's picture modeling the girls shirt... i am thong boy). :buttrock

what sucks is that i cant troll through Bf.c at work because the gov't computers have it blocked. "STOP - This site has been deemed non-work related." thats what it says on my gf's computer at work. grrrrr

Yeah, I'm just waiting on them to block it for me. That will super-size suck since I don't currently have a hook up at home. Anyway

I still only have a handful of attendees for the 4th of June. Let me know if your coming and want to kart race. I'll need a list and we will need to know how many are going to be eating with us to get a table later......

dammit I applied for that one, didn't get an interview...uurrrrgh. Must be nice having a job (I'm still unemployed). Ortiz e-mailed back and forth with me for about 3 weeks before picking someone else - I guess you, lol. Congratulations, man!

I guess I'll apply again next year, maybe I could get you to put in a good word for me?

oh definetely. actually the word on the streets is that the engineering groups want more interns because the work load is so enormous. if i hear anything else ill put a word in for you.
