Hi all, I'm doing an s52 e30 swap and need to find where to get a 2002 brake booster. found one on ebay but would prefer a rebuilt/new one. Searched bmw parts wholesale and a few others with no luck, all i find is the Master Cylinder.

Thanks in advance

Good luck.. I've never seen any of these cheap new or rebuilt. Try Double02 Salvage in Heyward, CA.

If you strike out I know of several old wrecks mostly 320's and one 76 2002. I could go fishing. I'm not so familiar with the brake system as mine has always worked pretty good. There is a tii brake booster and some other kind right? I take it you are after the standard 2002 brake booster?

standard booster is fine, i'm in Iraq right now so any help is welcomed. I'd prefer to look for myself but its just not possible.

thank you,

I'm going LSD hunting later this week if the rain ever freaking quits. I'll see if that booster from the junked 02 is still in there. It could be junk, might be fine - but I know it'll cost less than $250!!

Anyone after anything else? The 02 corpse is a 76. I already got the steering box off it and it had a nice nardi steering wheel I semi-restored and use now. Otherwise its all there but the body is literally so rusty you can put your finger through it. Shame really.

thanks

sure. I'll see how much the yard owner wants. If its in good shape and not too expensive i'll grab it. I could always ebay it for a reasonable price if you don't need it, or add it to my growing collection of 02 parts. Maybe one day i'll have enough to build another car ;)

I went to that yard today and checked it out. That one is pretty dang rusty looking and hasn't been used for a while. They wanted $45 for it, so I left it in the car. They also had a 1980 320i I was checking out, trying to figure if it was an 's' package so I could lift the LSD. The said they'd jack it up and find out and sell me the whole rear end for $100 -- I kinda doubt it is an LSD as the car didn't have recarios -- the shifter was fubared so I couldn't figure if it was a 4 or 5 speed.

So anyway if you do get stuck I can get you a brake booster from a 76 02 for $45 plus shipping with about a 50% chance its any good.

Herb,

Try this link

http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/ipb/wizard.jsp?partner=ipb&clientid=alleurasianautoparts&baseurl=http://www.alleurasianautoparts.com/&cookieid=16C0PJ03C&year=1986&make=MB&model=420-SEL-001&category=All&part=Brake+Booster

About $225. By the way, do you know if there is supposed to be some kind of seal/gasket between the master cylinder and the booster?

Thanks -- Greg
