slandis 05-07-2005, 05:28 AM So, continuing my quest to spend money on this car, I present the following:

EBC Sport 334x32mm vented rotors up front, EBC Sport 328x20mm vented rotors in the rear, wilwood forged billet superlite 4 piston calipers all around. Custom caliper carriers being made sometime soon.
Wasn't fond of the EBC gold "zinc plating", but I got the rotors for $200 for all four. They're just for prototyping the carrier brackets; I'll be switching to standard PowerSlot rotors for the real deal.
MaloventEvil 05-07-2005, 06:10 AM wow! awesome! couple of questions... where did you get the coilovers(and for how much), and how much were the calipers?

Calipers were about $130 each. Sleeved coilovers were purchased from mpact motorsports for something around $330.
russiamutha 05-07-2005, 10:26 AM Where did you get the calipers from? :)
MsticAzn 05-07-2005, 11:11 AM have fun with ur project :buttrock

The words prototype and brake should not be used in the same sentences... :nono

When talking about new carriers and testing for the fitment of the caliper over the rotor, sure 'prototype' is fine. In this case , I'll be driving my car up to a shop, removing stock brakes, measuring for the new carriers, make the prototype carrier, put everything back to stock, and drive home. Prototype carrier will then be taken to a machine shop and the final carriers made on a CNC mill and anodized.
Seems like prototype is fine in regards to brakes.

Will these be offered as a kit? Seems like at 130 per caliper and 200 for rotors we could have a pretty good deal.

I plan on offering the carriers seperately and also everything as a package, to those who have interest.
The price will likely be more than what I'm working with for testing, as the rotors are normally about $250 a pair (EBC or PowerSlot). Non-slotted rotors will likely fall into the $200-or-so category for all corners in the same dimensions.
shahshauhin 05-07-2005, 09:26 PM I was just pullin' your chain. ;)
Lee in Ottawa 05-07-2005, 09:31 PM ground control coilovers for $330? does this mpact motorsports have a website?
Mblaster 05-07-2005, 09:34 PM Nice, I want to see some pics installed on the car.
MaloventEvil 05-07-2005, 10:48 PM i would definitly be interested at such a cheap price.
mpower06 05-08-2005, 07:22 PM Are the Willwood caliper pistons sealed like our motorsport pistons - to prevent everyday dirt and grime from wrecking the fluid seal or scarring the pistons? I was under the impression the willwood calipers were for track use only and did not have secondary boots/seals like stock calipers do. Just curious since I have been playing around with the idea of making up my own kit as well....... :buttrock
Gunslinger 05-08-2005, 09:14 PM Very nice!
Where will you be installing the RG-45 splitter in pic 2?

Not all of Wilwoods caliper pistons have a dustboot like our OEM calipers, though there are models available that do have boots (at an added cost). However, they're very durable setups, and according to Wilwood shouldn't need rebuilding often (5 years in some cases, depending on your application.) Rebuild kits are less than $15 per caliper.
E34nication 05-09-2005, 09:18 AM I might be interested in the rears if you get it all figured out... (brakes)
