My co worker has a brand new hemi truck and he wants to race me. I keep telling him to put some money down. Anyone race one of these trucks yet? My 540iA has dinan software but that's all. He swears his truck will win.
Bench racing at it's finest.

Mid-low 15s? You should take him by a few carlengths. You'll kill him on the highway.

Its not a truck, but my wife has a Magnum RT with the Hemi. We have played around some with me in my 540i6 and I can give the results.

From a dead stop she easily jumps out 1 to 1.5 cars, but by the end of 2nd I have pulled about dead even since the hemi just doesn't wind out much past 5000rpm in each gear(definitely needs a reprogrammer). After that I usually am about 1 or 2 cars ahead at the end of a qtr. or so. This is mainly due to, in my opinion, the strong pull of the 540 from 4-6000 in 3rd.

From a roll from 20-60, with me in the right gear it is no match I walk away from her until the Hemi has downshifted and built up some revs. The MB tranny in these cars shifts smooth (Slow), downshifts even slower, and shifts way too soon. Once she has built some steam I pull on her slighty to 100mph.

Hope this will help.

Yeah but the Magnums don't weigh as much as the trucks or the Durango. He shouldn't have a problem with those...if he knows how to drive.

I took a 300C with a hemi a few weeks ago, quite handily.

I would think the truck has a bit lower gears, but you wouldstill walk him!

The weight is different, but I just wanted to share my first hand experience. The 300C's and RT's are geared 2.81 so they, like our 540s, beg for more gear especially with the lazy tranny.

new truck, and he works for me so I know he can't afford a R/T. I think he has less than 1000 miles on it and already driving it hard. He said it cuts out at 105 MPH. :lol I just laughed. I told him mine doesn't cut out, dinan software took the limiter off :redspot I've seen 155 in mine so far......

In 2003 they ran the Hemi truck head to head with the Silverado SS, and the numbers aren't bad.

http://motortrend.com/roadtests/pickup/112_0310_trux/index5.html

0-60 6.8 seconds

Now that was with a standard cab, so a quad cab would be a bit heavier..

Just be carefull when you race those Dodge trucks, because like my buddy who owns a SS silverado, bolt on power is pretty cheap, and his STS Turbo helps him put over 500 hp to the wheels, and you can look pretty dumb...really quickly.
