Quick questoin. When I push my clutch in and let the revs drop to idle they go low then bounce up to idle. They do the same thing when I am out of gear and give it little revs. This didnt bother me to much until last night when I was pulling into parking lots and would put the clutch in and the revs would bounce to low and the engine would shut off. At first it scared the heck out of me. I am pretty sure though that my car shutting off was due to my revs dropping to low because of this little bouncing problem. Does anyone know what is causing this? I think someone once mentioned a vacume leak or something. Please help. :help

There's a bunch of tubing and valves in the vacuum system and I don't think I know what most of them do. So that might be one place to look. A slow to respond MAF would be another possibility as might be your O2 sensor. As I recall at that vintage the O2 sensor is only important at idle or just above idle and when it gets lazy it can cause a drop in RPM as the engine drops to idle.
