I love BMW and think the new M5 will be a great car, but I also have an affinity for the E55. Unfortunately the E55 has a leg up due to the S/C motor which takes very little to modify to unleash hp. The E55 is only a blower pulley & computer chip away from waxing the M5 :( I would suspect the NA V-10 in the M5 is on the verge and gaining additional HP will cost $$$$$$$$$$$!

hey its only a matter of time till BMW unleashes something new. Always gotta remember M's techs are always ahead of AMG techs. My friend upgraded his e55 via Renntech but motor went bye-bye after 8 hard runs, luckily Merc covered due to Renntech warranty. Mercedes are now complete nightmares too many damn computer problems. Only one i can say really impressed me was the Sl55, have not yet been in the Sl65 but i can imagine how fast it is.
A e39 blown M5 will outrun its counterpart E55 blown anyday so theres no real comparison when dealing with SC

Ya know that MB is working on an E65 AMG, right? Brabus already sells these cars. But running through corners at 8000 plus rpm's is a lot more fun.
