All I can say is this forum kicks ass. You guys are one hell of a crowd. I just barely introduced myself and already have had several of you offer to help me out and Mark came through in a big way today.

So a BIG thanks to Mark for lending several hours of his day to me, a total stranger, lending his truck, hooking me up with a cherry picker, and helping go get and unload the motor at my house...

The turbo motor is here! I have NO idea what to do now. I've got a 40K cylinder head, 80K block, and a dirty intake. I need to get it all ready, assemble it, put the turbo on, and pull tons of crap out of my car (motor, tranny, driveline, exhaust) to get the project done. It's all a first for me, so wish me luck (and a hand if you want!)!!

Here's a few pics... I haven't photographed the cylinder head yet, it's wrapped in a blanket...

Coool. I have entirely too many clothes on for pictures. ;)

Glad to help Clay. You have inspired me to get the six done.

Last night at the USBA meeting, they had a guy from HPC coatings, talking about their product. I think I will pull the turbo, and manifold apart today, and get it done.

Yes Geoff, I know, but I talked to him at lenght about the Swain v HPC difference. He told me the piston dome coatings were exactally the same. Swain just tints the color, but the substructure has the same ceramics, and binders, and the proccess is exactally the same.

Ahhhh....with the white E30 cabrio?? I almost did a 180 just to check out your ride. I've been looking for a '91 325ix for a while now. I want one that's PRISTINE. Red or white. Yummm. :buttrock

What are you putting in your E30?? Just an M20 rebuild? A big six?

A friend of mine had a E30 325is that had a TCD Stage 2 turbo on it on a bix six conversion, the thing was unbelievable... I say "had" because he totalled it a couple weeks ago and has been sedated in the hospital with gauges in his head since. They hope he won't be a vegetable. He hit a pole when winding it up...the car is no more, and I hope he will be OK.

Here's a pic of his car, R.I.P.

:( That is sad to hear about your friend and his car.
It was a beautiful automobile

Hopefully he'll be around long enough to have another one
