I think what you're really asking is how do people afford these incredibly expensive cars. I have wondered this myself. A surprising number of owners of really hawt cars that post here (the people, not the cars) are in college and even high school. I didn't get my first Bimmer until I was 40.

I'm an electrical engineer but I don't think that has anything to do with affording a bimmer (or a pcar). I started with an old vw bug and a monthly car/parts budget and worked my way up. And it only took me ~25 years.

Mortgages!! It works nicely for me I have been doing them since high school im 23 on my 2nd bmw both were brand new. I definetly reccomend the field, You dont have to have a college degree and you usually make alot more then people with degrees. I know guys that make 35-40 grand a month even before the refi boom. You just have to be a good salesmen :redspot

i mean most of us, while having super nice cars, don't have super expensive ones.

I guess there are a couple pcars and e46 m3's now, but most of our cars are worth less than a new chevy cavalier or dodge neon.

but to answer the original question, i'm an electrical engineer in the USAF...you can look up how much i make on line. I invest about 20% of my gross income.

I'm 29. I work at Parametrix. We do construction cost estimating. We estimate Commercial Construction Projects when they are still in the design stage, help with budgeting and dispute resolution between owners and Contractors...

1) I am part owner, soon to be full owner.
2) I ALWAYS work more than 40hrs a week. If I wanted, I could easily dial back our work load and drive a cheaper car...but I am a financial whore and refuse.

Those are the 2 reasons I'm able to afford my M3. :D

I worked at BMW of Murray on all your cars :) But I am now going to school down in AZ. I am working part time down here for a locksmith company its a prety nice gig. I sit at home untill my phone rings then go unlock some home or car. And get paid 1/2 of what ever the price was. (40-100 a call). I get alot of free time to study with this job and hours are very flexable.

I was lucky and had some money left to me I used most of it to buy a home in Utah and used some for my first bimmer, the second one I am still paying for.

I am currently unemployed. For the rest of the school year i am focusing on hitting the 4.0 (4.0X4=M3). but in the summer I am hoping to detail cars. :cool

this is all very interesting to hear, nothing seems to extreme seems like most are just smart with their money. For a 17 year old I think im doin pretty well for minimal parental help (ya know look daddy gave me an m3). I worked my behind for all ive got im into my bronco over like 9 grand.

Uh, could the customer support please check with the secretary if the chief inventory captain has made sure that purchasing is checking on my clutch/flywheel inquiry? Otherwise the president of email support may find out from the BF.c damage control guy that something is wrong which would put the mechanic out of work, and the financial advisor would be really pi$$ed about that.
