Resumed work on the "Black Beauty". Last year I took the entire wire harness out of a donor car and transplanted into the 1600, because the harness in black beauty was burnt to a crisp. It took considerably less time than I imagined, but got distracted from the project for a year. Last few days I have pulled the wheels to tackle the brake system, because 3 out of 4 wheels where locked solid. So far both calipers are bad, and the master cylinder will need to be replaced. After looking at the body she is not the rusted heap I thought she was, so the work resumes...as of this post the ultimate goal is to get to car to a, "bomb around town" car statis.

Go for it! Here's some inspiration:

I met this car's owner, Stan Horton, at Road Atlanta this past Sunday at the Walter Mitty Vintage Races. He has it since it was new back in 1970. Bought it at Global Motors in Atlanta back then.

The car was restored in 1992 and he likes to take it out for a spin any chance he gets!

Those are some narrow tires.

They seem to be 165/80 tires. Don't see many 02's with stock-size tires anymore...

Yes, the 1600 has some narrow tires! It should be interesting to see how my 1600 will handle. I imagine sliding around will be no problem at all! I'll get some pics of my project up in a few days, and bear in mind the name "Black Beauty" can be abit misleading, she may be black but she's no beauty. You have been warned... :D
