I've got a CR box I was just cleaning up and trying to assess its condition. It has a few sticky points when I rotate it by hand (the pitman arm is off). I'm wondering if its OK to open that thing up, or will I make it worse? Its got gaskets that will probably fall apart right?
I guess I'm just wondering how best to figure out what to do with it. I'd like to put it back in my car, but don't know if its worth trying to rebuild/fix -- or if I have a hope of even doing that.
any advice would be great.

If it is rebuildable, I may be interested in buying it from you. Please let me know.

OK. I'm going to take it apart this weekend and see how bad it is. I'm trying to figure out if it is rebuildable, and if it is I'll probably put it back on. The steering box I've got at the moment leaks like crazy, so i'm always topping up the fluid.
I had this box on the car, but as I said there were trouble spots on it so I swapped it out for another regular one I found. Now its a question of how bad is it.. something I don't know much about.
It is tempting to sell - i've seen them go for $$ on ebay, but i'll probably keep it
cheers

I had my regular 'box rebuilt by Jack Fahuna (in So Cal somewhere).
I found the CR box was just too direct, and added to the slop that is just impossible to remove, it made the steering too binary (on or off)
