I'm going to get the next meet going and marking the 4th of June as the date. This is about 5 weeks from now so you have time to finish up projects on your car before then (cough cough, Steve, cough) :stickoutt .

I will get some more decals made up before we get together again, I'm glad everyone enjoyed them, and they looked sweet on the cars! Maybe Andy will have our shirts ready by then, I imagine its hard for him to keep things straight while trying to move and all.

We will try to do the same thing we did last time in Tulsa since everyone had fun racing karts. We should have a new track to run on this time! $30 for about a 30 minute race, start saving your pennies now, we will have 10 karts available, first come first serve.

Quick update.

The next meet will be on the 4th as stated, but Sunday the 5th there is an SCCA event scheduled in Tulsa at ORU. Some of us went yesterday and had a blast. This would be a good chance for anyone that has been wanting to run their car but just couldn't decide. I can tell you that this course and lot are great for begining. The lot is clear of curbs and light poles and its a short course so the speeds are kept pretty low.

If you are coming from out of town, make plans to stay and attend this race event. Here are pics from this weekend....

Where are you coming from? If from the OKC area you can probably hook up with some of those guys and follow them up. We will meet at JRP speedway in west Tulsa around 5:30. I'll post directions and a map soon...

take I-44 west like you are headed to OKC. Just before you turn back south take the 51st street exit to the light. At the light take a left and go up and over the hill. At the bottom of the hill you will see JRP Speedway on your left hand side. Someone will be there at the first gate (hopefully) to let us in. We will race karts first and then head to Friday's for dinner after that.... See you there.....

How big are these karts? I am about 6'5".

Well they are made for adults. They aren't like the Celebration Station go-karts, these are racing frames, seats and pedals like they use on shifter karts. Brandon!!!! How tall are you? You gotta be 6-something right? I think you will be fine, you do however need a helmet. There are some available at the track but I would recomend borrowing or bringing your own.

Some things you just don't want to rent ...

well they have these "socks" that you have to wear under their helmets so that part of it is not as much an issue as the opaque lenses on these things. Very hard to see through from what I remember. Any sun glare and you are blinded for a moment. Helmets with full face protection (lots of track debris is thrown up when you chase someone close) or an open face helmet with goggles is ok as well.

im 6 ' 4".....ull fit snuggly in there...ur knees may be an issue in a turn..but not bad....just spread em a lil bit......oh and...YIPEE!!!>..i GOT PULLED OVER TONITE!!!...looks like i wont be driving with my fogs on for a while...i got a warning tho..WHEW!!

Wow, going to Indy this weekend and then turning around and heading back up there in a couple weeks for the race. You should have talked them into postponing the wedding for a couple weeks so you could just make a single trip... HA!

I haven't checked the SCCA website to see if they have changed it yet but I heard on good sources that it will be at Hallet this Sunday. I still have yet to get a set of tires but I will be out there along with Troy and Jamie.

We are trying to get a kart day planned at the track in Norman soon :D

$30 for 30 minutes and 5 lap warm up, I thought that was the deal all along? Oh well, I think everyone had a good time anyway, kinda spooky without a wall on the banked corner though. A couple times I just about lost it bouncing out of that turn around the pits!

Keep us posted if you get a date set in Norman, I'm in.
