Funny you metioned that. I was thinking the same thing. I have a buddy of mine that's going to join us from Down Shift Magazine, Down Shift is a small local publication. He's trying to arrange to get some model to join us and do some quick photo shoots. As of right now he's planning on meeting up with the Tampa crew at the Brandon Mall and take some shots on the way to Orlando...

I was planning on meeting up with the Orlando guys at the Starbucks, but since he's going out there I guess I'll have to go out of the way to meet him there. Since I'm new to the community and only know one other guy with a BMW in the area (Chuck) it'll be nice to meet some of the guys in my area. See yous on the 13th.

They rent out helicopters on the field right next to the parking lot :stickoutt

It's already set up I will have a helicopter to cover the event, now I am just hunting for a good photographer and maybe someone to film.If anyone has any ideas let me know.Kevlar said he might be able to take pics from the helicopter but he is still not a 100% sure. Any help would be great just drop me a PM ! :cool

There will be a very good photographer coming to the event... I have arranged for a small Tampa Magazine to cover the event for us. Down Shift Magazine and myself will most likely meet up with the Tampa guys at the Brandon Mall and take some shots on the way there as well. But their head Photographer Mike will be there as well. Check out some of his work here (http://www.trentyne.com/photography/index.html). Personally I think he does some awesome work. But don't take my word for it check for youselves.

Also, if you ask him he may just take you up on the offer to hop in the helicopter for a couple of arial shots...

Yes guys this is true...

I was planning to release it with the updated banners, but that is erroneous now...

Race Rock basically gave me an ultimatum and said if that there was going to be 100 cars, that they would tow all of the cars and spectators, even if they weren't with the group...

It is ridiculous to have been put in such a situation, but in all honesty, it has worked out to be a better place...

I am on my way home today and i will post some news...

Its not really them trying to be assholes about it though. Their liquor license will only allow so many people/cars on the premises. More = loss of license. Not worth the business for them, hence why everyone would be towed.

The Mercado is a way better place for the event. I've done a couple shows there in the past that had over 100 cars with plenty of room for another 50-75. It's Race Rock's own loss.

e46freako id love to go in the helicopter! R/C model helicopters are my hobby and am fascinated by building and flying them, it would be the ultimate thing for me to go in a real one! I'm a pretty good camera man too.

I have been without computer access for the past 4 days...

I just got done with the tuning of my car and i am ready to rock!

Race Rock couldn't hold the capacity that we were expecting so i made the decesion to move to The Mercado. This will be a fabulous location and exciting for all...

I hear ya... my car was in the shop for over 2 weeks to get the brake ducts in the front done and it wasn't even touched. Picked it up today. Front of the car looks like ass but oh well... I'm not going to miss Summerblaze.

hey anyone know if best buy in brandon at 9am is still where the tampa people are meeting? I'm coming from south tampa and was told about the meet through friends who are also going to be there. I was wondering if this time and place is still correct as well as how many people with what cars are leaving from there? Any south tampa people forming their own meet up spot before heading over? Everyone remember to DRIVE SAFELY to the destination; lets make sure everyones physical bodies and cars get to Orlando in one piece. :)

And if you have a CF hood, remember to be sure it is latched properly. Last road trip mine flew off into the air.... ahahha...
If you have a CF hood I hope you have hood pins too. Otherwise don't drive to aweful fast, the air going throughr kidneys and vents (if its vented) can cause it to rip off if it isn't SECURELY held down.

Check tire pressures and all that stuff too. I know everyone is going to be detailing so checking air pressure should be minor.

I imagine we'll leave by 9:30. Should take about an hour and a half depending on traffic and construction...

With our luck, we could be doing 60 the whole way and some do-gooder will call in a *FHP compaint against our convoy for tying up a lane. "Its just like them contests I've seen on the internet - must be $2million worth of cars out here!"
Then we'll all get busted Mischief-style for participating in a "race". Violating FS316.191, and its our word against the law.

Sweet meet. Great turn-out....I heard the count was around 120. I was number 24 in a black 318ti. Saw more M's in one place than I ever have before. I'll be looking forward to the pic threads. Post a link if you start one of those.

Thanks everyone for comming out...It was a great show. Final count was just over 130 cars...

Thanks to all the vendors, i hope it was as worth it for you as it was me...

Next year i am going to dedicate even more time to the meet. I want to target the whole southeastern USA and have a blow out meet...www.summerblaze.com is in the works...

:buttrock Awesome meet everyone... Although the heat was a bit rough... I for one was extremely glad I went. Really glad I got to meet those that I met just wish I wasn't so busy with the photoshoots to meet more of you...

Might I suggest a "Pre-WinterBlaze" and a "Pre-SummerBlaze" for just the right temps. and that way no one goes home burnt or with heat exhaustion.... Just a thought.

Yes!!! As soon as I get my copies I'll post them...

I'm not a BMW owner but I can respect a nice outing and you guys had just that. It was hotter than hell outside but there were a lot of nice clean rides out there.

We had that too, it was just the night before so those of us that drove up early spent the morning QDing the cars :D

Who else was shooting pics...If you got shots of my car (The Alpine Weiss e36 M3/4 that just down from Umnitza's tent and across from the stonegard guys), let me know...I know a couple of people took a few photos. I wanna see what Baby looks like. :D
