Ok, we've all been talking about this but we need to decide on a date and place. I know 2 places in Arlington...Redline Performace and Alamo Autosports, both have dynojet dynos. There's also the Rotary place in Garland but their fan wasnt too big when we dynoed last time. So lets decide on a place. The day I think should probably be on a Saturday so most people can go.

Sounds good to me how much are you estimating it would cost?

Dynos are usually around $60-$80 for 3 pulls. It may be lower if we can get a lot of people to go. Rotary charged us $35 for 2 runs which wasnt too bad of a deal. I know for sure Redline charges $65 for 3 runs and Alamo charges $75 for 3 runs. Maybe someone else on the board has checked some other places with better deals.

Joe, I started a thread on DTM about this.

I think Speedworks would cut us a deal. Supposedly, the S2000 owner's group gets good prices.
Here is the thread:

Damn, DTM is down. Well any place is cool with me as long as the price is good. Lets see how many people we can get to dyno. Maybe we can do it the same time the S2000 guys do it. I have a friend with one who would probably be interested in going too.

I *think* the last place I was at with the S2000 group was Intercrew? At least thats what it says on the dyno sheet I got.

Not terribly impressed although I think it was $50 or so for4 pulls but they used NO fan and heated up the car looking for the right connection point - i.e. runs made that didn't register.

Hopefully it wasn't this Speedworks place.

Also would be nice to see how much extra to get A/F ratios or who includes that in the price.

I'm down assuming I'm in town - I have a run of wedding starting soon.

Just for me June is pretty much out but July is open aside from the weekend of the 13-14 or so. Hope to be able to make it.

I can ask the S2k guys if you want - a good friend of mine is pretty involved with them and I know a bunch of the guys as I occassionally auto-x etc with them.

Brad,

That would be cool. Hook it up. I only suggested Speedworks because it is by my house, they can do A/F, and they have medical grade nitrous. :buttrock

I think it would be cool to intermix with another car group and see some "competition" in action. Are you against Speedworks? I dont care where. Intercrew fukked my friend on a Fuel Management System and Alamo fukked his A/F up doing it and then charged him $425 to retune it.

Not against Speedworks. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't that Intercrew place. Was a bit of a joke dynoing there with no fan and them getting their POS computer to work. Not a good setup.

Is the first I have heard bad about Alamo. Supposedly if getting a AA Turbo installed in N. Texas (I wish) frayed said that would be the place to do it. Couple fo the S2k guys really like them as well....

I can ask about the S2k guys but this last dyno they had wasn't too too long ago.

Let me know more details as we get further into this and I will ask around.

Sounds good Brad...let us know what you find out.

Mike, the place you're talking about sounds cool because I'd like to get an A/F ratio done too.

Alamo is indeed the best place to get an AA turbo in TX. I went there a few weeks ago and talked to the tuner Bryce himself about the options they have and what he can do as far as tuning and what not. I also got a chance to see a turbocharged M3 that be running about 19psi or so pretty soon. It had custom EVERYTHING. All done by Alamo. Ever seen an intercooler that goes from the bottom of the M3 bumper to half-way up the kidney grills?

I've always heard good things about Alamo, but my buddy had a horrible experience there. They finally got his car tuned correctly, but they charged him a grip of cash for it after they had messed his A/F up. Let's all call around and see what we can find out. Arlington might be far for some, but I dont mind it.

I am up for it. My vote would be for speedworks they are pro guys and do lots of dyno days.

when and where do the s2000 guys auto x? when is the next one?

Dayum! Whos running the 19psi M3? That guy come to any meets? Ought to be a freakin hoss. AA turbo, Mech Tech or custom? Big freakin I/C!

Sean - the S2k guys go to Mineral Wells. Most recent event was June 1. There isn't another one till fall b/c of summer heat. I have been the only BMW but there is a mix of cars. I like it as the group has been small. Starting to get up there in numbers and they may have to eventually do something to limit numbers perhaps.

For anyone interested, the street races at Royal last night were off the hook. There was a modded Viper out there killing everything. There was a lot of cars and it was completely packed. One guy that goes to the meets was out there in a Carbon Black E46 M3. I forgot his name.

DISCLAIMER: This is what I HEARD. :eyesscan :D :buttrock
