Guys,

I'm looking for a list of OBD-I codes (1994) for the E36 BMW's.

The past couple of times at the track, my Check Engine light kicked on, though nothing *felt* wrong with the car.

I had my knock sensors replaced, as that was the code which popped up initially. (Bloody PITA to replace the back one....).

Now, it's popping up with CODE 13 and CODE 69. I *believe* 13 is the oxygen sensor, but I'm not sure what CODE 69 is.

Does anybody have a list of the codes, so I can track down what they are?

Unfortunately, I've cleared my DME, so I can't using the KEY-ON gas pedal method to reveal specifics.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Pat

Jim Conforti has a list of the OBD-I codes on his web site, www.bonnevillemotorwerks.com .

Jim,

Unfortunately, the OBD-I codes listed in Bentley (and elsewhere that I've searched on) only apply to the ignition on, pump gas pedal 5 times, watch the blinking Check Engine light method.

Using a scanning tool of some sort (which reveals codes in 2 digit format, not 4 digit) pops up a list of codes which nobody seems to have posted anywhere.

The two specific codes I'm looking for are 69, and 13. 13 is almost guaranteed to be the oxygen sensor, but I couldn't find the damn manual in the shop yesterday to look up what code 69 is. (Yes, it needs to be cleaned up....).

These codes would be the same for anyone who uses the BMP (et al) OBD-I scan tool. Any ideas where I can find this?

Thanks,

Pat
