Guys I am in contact with a vendor who manufactures/sells alarm systems specifically made for e36’s (they plug into the BMW pre-wired alarm port). These systems are pretty much identical to the OEM alarms made by BMW (sells for $400) but with a lot more features. The price for 10 interested people would be $175 shipped anywhere in the US. This would be great for those on a budget who don’t like being sitting ducks for thieves. Also installation is EXTREMELY easy and can be done by anyone in no time at all – the company even offers live tech support via phone or web. Let me know if you guys are interested and we can start a list. The features are as follows:
Anti-Scan Technology, which will protect it from the high-tech thief.
State of the art BMW Alarm System.
Duel-Zone Adjustable Shock Sensor (Plug-in).
Ignition Smart Auto lock and Unlock (Programmable).
Double Lock - Dead Bolt Feature, locks your BMW Doors in such a way that they cannot be opened even from the inside. This feature is active only when the alarm is activated, and not when the ignition lock is on.
EWS I, EWS II, and EWS III Compatible. This acts as a Starter Disable Protection (SDP) and Fuel Pump Disable. Your BMW cannot be started without ignition or gas.
Parking Light Flash, visual confirmation.
This system plugs into your BMW Alarm Port.
Remote Keyless Entry, Doors and Trunk (does not pop the trunk open).
Remote Auxiliary Output for Remote Start, Window Module, or Pager.
Silent Arm / Disarm with Parking Light confirmation.
Active / Passive Locking, locks your BMW automatically after 30 seconds, if you forgot to lock it with the remote.
Comes activated and ready to install. No need to bring it to your local BMW Dealer to activate.
Remote Panic, for personal security.
Valet Mode, used to over-ride your system when your remote is lost or to program a feature.
Passive Anti-Hijacking Feature, personal security (Selectable).
Horn Output for BMW OBC Horn, (available on some BMW models).
One Year Warranty, Extended warranty is also available.
Step-by-step illustrated installations manual.
Unlimited Technical support by Phone or Email, even on the weekends and the holidays.
Proudly Made in the U.S.A.
neal1st 04-28-2005, 12:04 AM forgot to mention. Comes with 2 remotes - siren - alarm ECU - shock sensor - all necessary wiring including LED.

StarReaver 04-28-2005, 05:19 AM This is probably a dumb question, but can it be installed on an E36/8 (Z3 ///M Coupe)?

five3five 04-28-2005, 12:41 PM yeah I just installed this company's keyless entry system (BMWRSX2). It seems to be working. Didnt take that long to install either.

krayon 04-29-2005, 01:03 AM Does it make like seven different tones or does it just honk the horn? Also can you roll up the windows with this alarm like you can do by holding the key in the lock position?

Just wanted to point that out. Didn't want pops to miss out on the alarm because of a mistake. Anyway thanks for the offer but I was raped by BMW for the stock alarm a couple years back.
mastermind 04-30-2005, 06:59 AM ok guys I already have this alarm. so far from installing it, it is in general pretty easy, but:
1. 12pin connector does not come with a harnesss. All wires have to be pluged in individually.
2. alarm horn is logically un mountable to oem pop in tab wire mounts.
3. diagram and instructions are kinda iffy.
I got the alarm working though and its pretty nice. I had to splice the wires and extend the alarm anntenna (which is just a wire itself) all the way through the headliner to the mirror and the range is decent. I am going to however email these guys to give me a more detailed diagram or instructions on how to get the alarm horn with the oem horn or whatever. A good alarm with a good price even at $199 its just as good as the extra $100 for the oem one.

are you sure your car was prewired for an alarm system? Everything should have went perfectly smooth if it was.
mastermind 04-30-2005, 05:13 PM are you sure your car was prewired for an alarm system? Everything should have went perfectly smooth if it was.
My car is prewired, it says in the trunk on a tab thing. emailed them today, gonna see what they say about the problems i been having.
deen3 05-02-2005, 05:03 PM i sent in my payment. do we have to wait for 10 people to pay before it gets shipped out? is that how it works?
tomas3314 05-02-2005, 07:31 PM My car is prewired, it says in the trunk on a tab thing. emailed them today, gonna see what they say about the problems i been having.
hey there, where exactly is this said tab?? Going to go look as I would like an alarm but have a 92 325i. I am not sure if it is prewired. If it is I'll be in for the buy if available. thanks
neal1st 05-02-2005, 11:08 PM ^^
to check if you car is prewired pop your trunk and look towards the left hand side. You will see a little cirlce plastic tab saying something along the lines of "prewired for bmw alarm". Let me know if you are interested before 9PM tomorrow - thats when the GB will stop. Thanks.

fdawg 05-03-2005, 11:47 PM does this company offer the window/sunroom auto-close add-on? if so, how much $$?
fdawg 05-03-2005, 11:48 PM p.s. i went to my local Car Toys to get an alarm and they wanted $580, installed, plus tax. that's f_cking bullsh_t.

neal1st 05-04-2005, 01:28 PM 8 people have paid. The items have already shipped out to us. I think the payment link will be going down very soon - so send in payment asap. You should have payment instructions in your PM box.
Alpin3r 05-04-2005, 06:11 PM Im interested but i think i missed the boat... Is this group buy still going on if i wanted in?
tomas3314 05-04-2005, 07:03 PM if it isn't too much trouble can someone post a picture of the trunk tab that says its prewired for alarm....
dakar poonker 05-04-2005, 11:41 PM Im interested too...man i would have been in for sure. Any plans for another group buy on these?
madhatterm3 05-04-2005, 11:54 PM i bought the pager alarm off the website yesterday. got an email saying it shipped today. i think you can still buy them through a link....
i received the alarm, but no instructions came with it. are they available online?
neal1st 05-11-2005, 01:00 AM shu i just got done installing mine. Took 45 minutes. The instructions should have been emailed to the address you punched in during the checkout process. If not give me your email address and ill email them to u
deen3 05-11-2005, 01:08 AM was there supposed to be a bracket included to mount the horn?
neal1st 05-11-2005, 01:29 AM ^
no just the horn with the little feet piece attached to it. You need to use the screws that came in the package to screw it onto the metal support bar right ontop of the headlight.

I only took a glance, but where exactly is the harness for the siren located on the passenger side in the engine bay?
nismo skyline 05-11-2005, 04:49 PM i installed my alarm this pass weekend, and was very satisfied with it. and recommend it to anyone.
neal1st 05-11-2005, 05:47 PM I only took a glance, but where exactly is the harness for the siren located on the passenger side in the engine bay?
its a cord tucked near the passenger side headlight. There is a alarm DIY on bimmerdiy.com - Pretty much similar instructions.
deen3 05-12-2005, 10:17 AM am i the only one who found that the wiring harness to plug in the wires was a bitch?
udm95 05-15-2005, 12:08 PM tomas3314 - for future reference:
Here's a pic of the "pre-wired" buttons. They're sit on the ds trunk liner in my '95 318ic. They're readily visible, so my guess is that if you haven't noticed them, your car isn't pre-wired.
neal1st 05-15-2005, 02:40 PM am i the only one who found that the wiring harness to plug in the wires was a bitch?
the 12-pin wireing harness is removable! you can remove it and bring it all the way out of the dash...
beanie8899 05-15-2005, 04:11 PM this is a stupid question but what kind of noise do you hear with this alarm when you press the "unlock" button on the reemote? is it the 'beep beep' noise you hear on the newer bmws? thanks
neal1st 05-15-2005, 05:29 PM ^^
its a good/loud sounding chirp.
hey neal1st, did you ever send me those install directions?
thanks,
