Correct response is Salt Flats during speed week. Bring it to RMR too and we can check and make sure they did not lie to you about the 1/4 mile either.

Do it we should all plan a RMR meet and test our cars in the 1/4 mile that would be sweeet.

One of my favorite loops is East I-80 from SLC to Wyoming 189 just past Evanston. Head north on 189 to an overnighter in Pinedale. There is a bar in Pinedale where I usually drink too much. The next morning I get up early, like ~10, and head to Hoback Junction and Jackson for breakfast. Then south on 89 to Freedom, west from Freedom to Grays Lake, south to Soda Springs, Montpelier, Sage, and back to Kemmerer. There are several places along the way, you know ... closed courses with professional drivers available.

I think the Salt Flats would be the best. I propose (again) a dA drive out to the Flats for some AWESOME photo shoots on a clear sunny day, some driving, and maybe a lunch Boo-Fey in Wendover.

On the way out last weekend we could have stopped and got some pics of those two guys who were going to make a speed run in their chevy 4x4. It would have been a nice pic with their truck in the background up to the axles in muck and them walking toward the tow truck with Sprites in hand.

Hahahaha. I honked as we went by. I cant tell you how many times I have seen that. When I was a kid there was a VW bus that was off the side of the road for years, prolly became part of the scenery at some point.


Guys when you drive on the salt you can never get it all out. I wouldnt drive a car I liked out there. I the old days, tow and push cars were disposible cars or trucks, now they are all leased desiel trucks. The salt is soooooooooooo brutal.

I think I've driven most of these -- they go through some beautifully scenic country. Is that road up the canyon to Hoback junction still under construction?

May 6th is the next street legal event and the first midnight drag.

Street legal will mean buying a number for the season, and it starts inthe afternoon but you will get 2 to 4 test runs and then the brackets start and you run until you lose.

Midnights will be cheaper (no number) and start later (10-2am I think) but just packed with kids running moms civic. You'd need to be in line by 7 or so to get one of the 300 slots and then get 3 runs in maybe.

I will be at the street legal event and am more then willing to help everyone get through creditials, tech, etc. etc.

Credentials? Can I borrow some?

I would like to take a shot at 16 seconds but don't think I can make it on the 6th. I have a bt the next week and the Friday before I'm usually taking care of all the stuff I've put off until the last minute. If I can work it out I'll be there. I hate to miss a chance to push the pedal to the floor.

I'm running the points so should be there every friday there is a street legal race. So pretty much every second friday afternoon / evening.
