The gentlemen at Porsche claim my C FORE S has a top speed of 174.
Where could I go around here to see if they are liars?

Where could I go around here to see if they are liars? chmdrm 04-27-2005, 11:40 PM I-215? euro4life 04-27-2005, 11:45 PM I would say... somewhere legal. How 'bout we can talk about it in person. (Lange is reading :shifty) chmdrm 04-27-2005, 11:47 PM Wait until end of summer and take it out to speed week. chasmanbmwfan 04-27-2005, 11:51 PM You criminals!!! Of course somewhere legal. As an officer of the court, I always attempt to honor and obey the law of the land. chmdrm 04-27-2005, 11:57 PM Ummmm .... just testing you. Correct response is Salt Flats during speed week. Bring it to RMR too and we can check and make sure they did not lie to you about the 1/4 mile either. BIMMERBOYZ 04-28-2005, 12:55 AM Do it we should all plan a RMR meet and test our cars in the 1/4 mile that would be sweeet. gtiguy 04-28-2005, 09:53 AM One of my favorite loops is East I-80 from SLC to Wyoming 189 just past Evanston. Head north on 189 to an overnighter in Pinedale. There is a bar in Pinedale where I usually drink too much. The next morning I get up early, like ~10, and head to Hoback Junction and Jackson for breakfast. Then south on 89 to Freedom, west from Freedom to Grays Lake, south to Soda Springs, Montpelier, Sage, and back to Kemmerer. There are several places along the way, you know ... closed courses with professional drivers available. ///Molloy 04-28-2005, 10:18 AM Where could I go around here to see if they are liars? Welcome to Race wars. Teh Slows 04-28-2005, 10:33 AM Molloy it amazes me you can quote so much of that movie :shifty SehrSchnell 04-28-2005, 11:39 AM I think the Salt Flats would be the best. I propose (again) a dA drive out to the Flats for some AWESOME photo shoots on a clear sunny day, some driving, and maybe a lunch Boo-Fey in Wendover. chmdrm 04-28-2005, 11:45 AM Flats are under about 6"s of water right now. You will see when we drive out for school. We can do it speed week when we all go watch Makr set world records however. SehrSchnell 04-28-2005, 11:48 AM Flats are under about 6"s of water right now. We can all bring hair dryers and dry it out. :dunno chmdrm 04-28-2005, 11:51 AM I will start gathering long extension cords. SehrSchnell 04-28-2005, 11:53 AM I will start gathering long extension cords. Good thinking. I will bring stilts to wear so that I can reduce the risk of electricution. chmdrm 04-28-2005, 11:57 AM We could all just dress in latex suits. black325isgirl 04-28-2005, 12:08 PM Drastic topic change in 4...3...2...1... SehrSchnell 04-28-2005, 12:22 PM We could all just dress in latex suits. Mines at Red Hanger right now. :( gtiguy 04-28-2005, 12:27 PM Flats are under about 6"s of water right now. On the way out last weekend we could have stopped and got some pics of those two guys who were going to make a speed run in their chevy 4x4. It would have been a nice pic with their truck in the background up to the axles in muck and them walking toward the tow truck with Sprites in hand. I cant tell you how many times I have seen that. When I was a kid there was a VW bus that was off the side of the road for years, prolly became part of the scenery at some point. Guys when you drive on the salt you can never get it all out. I wouldnt drive a car I liked out there. I the old days, tow and push cars were disposible cars or trucks, now they are all leased desiel trucks. The salt is soooooooooooo brutal. chasmanbmwfan 04-28-2005, 02:48 PM Do it we should all plan a RMR meet and test our cars in the 1/4 mile that would be sweeet. This is a must. Let's not let this idea drop through the cracks. chasmanbmwfan 04-28-2005, 02:51 PM One of my favorite loops is East I-80 from SLC to Wyoming 189 just past Evanston. Is that road up the canyon to Hoback junction still under construction? chasmanbmwfan 04-28-2005, 02:52 PM [QUOTE=chmdrm]Flats are under about 6"s of water right now. QUOTE] Not a problem, I've been wanting to check out the top speed of my boat too. chmdrm 04-28-2005, 03:00 PM May 6th is the next street legal event and the first midnight drag. Street legal will mean buying a number for the season, and it starts inthe afternoon but you will get 2 to 4 test runs and then the brackets start and you run until you lose. Midnights will be cheaper (no number) and start later (10-2am I think) but just packed with kids running moms civic. You'd need to be in line by 7 or so to get one of the 300 slots and then get 3 runs in maybe. I will be at the street legal event and am more then willing to help everyone get through creditials, tech, etc. etc. Antwerp 04-28-2005, 05:32 PM That sounds like a lot to go through... We'll need the help! JrlBmw 04-28-2005, 05:37 PM Do it we should all plan a RMR meet and test our cars in the 1/4 mile that would be sweeet. im in if i can race you in your eta. not the 323 that would be cheating! chmdrm 04-28-2005, 05:43 PM So lets all go the 6th. Have to leave to head out around 2:30 so you get to leave work at lunch. gtiguy 04-28-2005, 06:12 PM May 6th is the next street legal event and the first midnight drag. I would like to take a shot at 16 seconds but don't think I can make it on the 6th. I have a bt the next week and the Friday before I'm usually taking care of all the stuff I've put off until the last minute. If I can work it out I'll be there. I hate to miss a chance to push the pedal to the floor. chmdrm 04-28-2005, 06:25 PM I'm running the points so should be there every friday there is a street legal race. So pretty much every second friday afternoon / evening. |
