View Full Version : Where to get oil change in San Francisco?
motosport3 04-27-2005, 11:07 PM I know, I'd do it myself but unfortunately I don't have the facilities right now as something happened at my house, so I want to find a shop.
I don't want to go to my normal shop and pay their hourly rate of ~60-70/hr for an oil change.
Any recommendations for a good BMW shop w/ a flat fee for an oil change?
Phaedrus?
cheech 04-29-2005, 02:12 AM Give Gordon a call at Edge in Dublin. I think they charged around 60-70, which includes parts (synth. oil, and filter) and labor. They always go above and beyond for their customers. Truley great people at Edge!!!!!!
jonjon0nline 04-29-2005, 02:21 AM maybe you can find someone local to change the oil at. where are you located?

.... thx...i've heard great things about edge, but its too far for an oil change and for those prices I'd just go to my normal shop...vanguard.

I'm in Berkeley....why don't you just buy your own oil, I have the filters at my shop and bring it in and I'll get it on the rack and change it in about 15 minutes.

auto_pilot 05-02-2005, 04:05 PM I heard nothing but good things about Phaedrus...And if you are willing to go to Berkeley...I've had good experiences at Bavarian Professionals.

Well I got quoted for $150 for oil service at Vanguard. If it were just an oil change then it would take less time thus cheaper.
A full oil service I guess includes checking of fluids, brake inspection, battery test and other things.
Got an apt for this Friday....
Don Nguyen 05-03-2005, 04:01 AM I changed my oil yesterday at night and it took like an hour with draining time.

Did they tell you they would do all those other services for you? Or are you guessing? I'm just trying to clarify.

No not guessing, they mentioned those among others that qualify as a official BMW oil service. So is it worth it? Since I've had the car I've done all my oil changes till now.

I just checked w/Bavarian Professionals...They want $210 for the Oil Service...so it sounds like a good deal. They did say that the Oil change is the only maintenance...everything else is a visual check, or road test check.
