I agree with you, I drove the same model yesterday. Great car, I like the new engine. Imo, the interior is much better too.

We just got ours yesterday and I took it out for a spin. Body roll is definitely less. Turn in is quicker. I love the thicker steering wheel. The interior is much better than the E46. The whole car makes the E46 look old, and generic looking. The suspension and the 18" wheels are suprisingly soft, compare to the E46 ZHP. The throw is about the same, and not anymore snick-snick. The brakes are great but less feedback. The new 255hp I6 is smoother than the old one, a bit like the E36 3.2 M engine, with similar gearing feel. Is definitely an improvment on the E46. And I think it looks awesome. The more angular lines makes it look more athletic. Can't wait till the ride and drive next month so I can find out its track capability.

The only thing people complain about is the styling - and theres hardly any kits out yet so its being 'fixed as we speak' im sure. I for one like the ACS kit.

the back looks too much like a jetta. and the front with the half grills on the hood and front wierd me out. but im sure its much nicer in person. the only thing that pisses me off in general about all the new styling is that the cars look less and less like the car somebody would get if they wanted a sports car, and the mods are like what you would do to other lux car where you just do wheels and body kits. :(

Maybe it's just me, but it looks nothing like any Jetta I've ever seen.

OMG! They're both sort of round....just like 99% of all other cars out there! The similarities are amazing!

which ride and drive are you going to? I will be at the one in DC on May 5th.

When was the 3 Series ever supposed to look sporty?

That same thing used to bug me. I saw it in person at the NY Auto Show and it was much better in person. And I do agree that it has a Jetta-like rear

This will probably be my next car if I decide to return my car when the lease is up.

I drove an e90 330i sport six speed today as well. It was fantastic and i think it looks great in person (not so much with smaller wheels though). About the only problem I saw with the car is that there is significantly less rear headroom than in the e46 (way more legroom though). I'm only 5'10" and my head was pressed into the ceiling at an angle when I was sitting normally.
