View Full Version : Any interest in a E30 1988 325e?
YLOJAKT 04-27-2005, 11:57 AM :hotflash We have this car for sale if any of you folks are interested. It is black in color, tan and black interior. Has been in a couple of minor accidents, but the body is fully restored. No damage in either accident to frame. Average paint for a car of this year, some interior flaws; roof liner is torn, front seats are worn. Tires are in great shape (about 15,000 on them) engine runs very well although the check engine light is on. It has less than 100,000 miles on it. (I suspect the O2 sensor needs replacing). Sunroof, newer exhaust, maintenance performed regularly. Timing belt replaced twice already, exhaust changed a couple of times too. (This used to be Hien's daily driver before we bought the '99 323i and its about 2 miles to work!)
This would be a great track car... :checkered
We would like to get about 2500.00, price negotiable
:thanks:

2002maniac 04-27-2005, 03:04 PM I'll say it
That is way too much money for a 325e. Drop $1000 off the price and it would be perfect for a college chick. Sorry, nobody loves the "e"
///Molloy 04-27-2005, 03:14 PM yeah this is what I was thinking...
e no good.
maybe 1K
2002maniac 04-27-2005, 03:54 PM well, it is a '88 so it deserves some credit. the '88 had the "super eta" engine with a raised redline (5500 I think) and 7 more horsepower. :alright
chmdrm 04-27-2005, 05:15 PM 84 - 87 325e should have 2.7l ETA with 121bhp @ 4240rpm and 170lbs of torque @ 3250rpm.
Not a screamer but if the timing belt was done should be a good solid runner.
YLOJAKT 04-27-2005, 05:26 PM nice to know your opinions on the thing. Your probably right about the price, but I gotta leave some "haggle" room... :D

Its an automatic... :(
BIMMERBOYZ 04-27-2005, 06:13 PM Its an automatic... :(
Damn I would be all over this if it was a manual. It is a super eta which means they have domed pistons you can put a 325i head on and have 160 hp easy. I have mine chipped it does pretty good A lot of torque in these cars to bad it is well worth 2500.00 if less then 100,000 and manual but auto no good you could get 2000,00 or more.
Don't rip on the ETA I bought mine for 1,000 with the wheels it is pretty quick for how old and 225000+
YLOJAKT 04-27-2005, 06:39 PM Cool, this is good to know. I was told that the engine was easy to modify for more horses and that it would be coveted by some for track purposes. I can see how the auto would kill it. Thanks for the feedback... :)

Sorry for the hijack- BUT, Andrew, you have pics of your 323i? That was my very first BMW (in highschool). Loved that car!
BIMMERBOYZ 04-27-2005, 07:44 PM Ya a few I will go get them off my cd and post tonight awesome car the torque is amazing I will easily walk a E36 M3. NO offense. It was my graduation present. The timing belt broke on me and then I got the stroker built about a year ago.

wait a min, wait a min...
your 323 with a 325 block can walk an E36 M3 :confused ?
are you turbo'd?
Cameron Hauck 04-27-2005, 09:17 PM I will easily walk a E36 M3. NO offense.
When would you like to prove this?
SehrSchnell 04-27-2005, 09:18 PM I dunno, I had a euro 323i.....pretty pretty fast alright.
///Molloy 04-27-2005, 11:28 PM When would you like to prove this?
.
euro4life 04-27-2005, 11:51 PM It's a walk off.
BIMMERBOYZ 04-28-2005, 12:36 AM I raced one with my old 2.3 engine it had cam headers exhaust port and polish. barely won from about 40-110 120 a car length. something in that neighborhood. It was the 3.0 engine. Cameron's car is different I never said a modded heavily M3 3.2 I don't know the cars real perfromance yet as it has not been broken in the frame was bent by me :( 2nd to 3rd shift in rain lost control hit a curb. Got the new engine built and was going to get the frame straightened about same time. I have decided to tranfer bodies on my car there is bondo on it and was rolled once before. The car will be completely finished in about a year alot of money is going in to this car. I will be around next year and able to race most of you to see how I compare but I might run individual throttle bodies a fat cam and get close to 250hp In a 2,000 pound car power to weight ratio that is amazing. So we will see. My goal is to be as fast or faster then Cameron's M3 and able to scare e46 M3 to 80. Goal :redspot
here is what someone wrote me with the same car.
You need to keep in mind that the torque in you E21 is mind blowing, my car is wicked fast and a e36 M3 is no more than something to toy with to about 120 mph. I know this well becouse I work on them ALL at a dealer..
BIMMERBOYZ 04-28-2005, 04:57 PM Any Pictures yet.
BIMMERBOYZ 04-30-2005, 06:11 PM Still no Picture's :D ?
