Ok, I am not having a good time with this brake DIY :mad . My other post was about how my guide bolts were stripped. So I took the advice of just saying screw it to the guide bolts and just removed the mounting bolts. I got the whole caliper off, replaced the rotor, removed the old pads and got the new ones ready to put it. I put the inner pad in, but when I try to fit the outside pad in, it won't fit. There's too narrow of a space to squeeze it into. It looks like the only way I could get the front one in is if I remove the guide bolts, but I'm having a difficult time with that. I've read people's posts that they have successfully replaced pads without even messing with the guide bolts. How did you guys get that front pad to go in? Any help would be really appreciated, I'm in a tie up right now, because my car is halfway replaced and will be un driveable if I can't get these pads in. :help Thank you.

My advice remains the same, remove the guide bolts with vise grips.

From what you describe it sounds like the 7mm hex socket in the guide bolts have been rounded out, probably as a result of someone trying to use the wrong size hex driver. Removing the bracket mounting bolts isn't a work around. You need to use HansundFranz's suggestion and take a pair of vice grip to the guide bolts to get them out and do the job in the normal manner. To put things back together you'll need new guide bushings and new guide bolts.

I've used a vice grip to get the bolts out, but they will not budge ONE BIT.. I have no idea what to do.

Hammer. Hit the wrench with a hammer. Sharp whacks should dislodge the bolts. Or use a cheater bar (i.e. pipe) on the end of the Vise Grips. The hammer method should work.
A 16oz or 20oz hammer is ok, just don't use a light ball peen hammer or something like that.
