Is it just me or does anybody find something wrong with the cut they have to put in place to make the tubing fit? :confused

Dinan is always cutting shit up. Its rediculous.....they chopped up some Z8's frame rails to accomodate the headers and other stuff. They are a joke, why cant they just design stuff that fits???

Is a warranty about the only gratifying detail Dinan offers?

I've heard the Z8 story and don't know what the truth is on that one.

I would say that this is a prototyping system it seems like. It's entirely possible that they will ship something with a carbon fiber piece there that looks/acts/walks/talks like the original intake pieces. They might ave cut the top brace out for expediency to use aluminum temporarily to test a design.

I can't imagine Dinan handing a car back with a structural (although minor) piece cut. The lawsuits would be catastrophic on the first injury.

To their credit, the stuff tends to work out of the box flawlessly and if you don't go changing pulleys and dinking with it, the car holds together.

You aren't going to get maximum performance that can be achieved by turbos, boost pulleys and lots of other things. But your car won't eat a headgasket every year, either.

In other words, Dinan is to boost, as BMW is to Ferrari.

They wouldn't really be able to offer any warranty through BMW dealerships by that point would they. Dinan's warranties are what attract its clientele, those individuals who prefer to minimize the less glorious side of dealing with non-BMW sanctioned tuners or they simply lack the knowledge and/or equipment to perfom the modifications and perpetual maintenance required in addition to factory recommendations. Their products are well engineered within Dinan's own criteria to minimize any and all potentially negative effects of offering warranties.

It may seem as though I'm focusing solely on Dinan's practices, however as we are should probably be aware of, Dinan is not the only corporation following stated business model. I have purchased Dinan products and will continue to do so, so long as it remains in my best interest.

Nice analogy! Do you work for the SAT writing people? :)
