Hey guys, spoke to a representative from BMW NA this morning and she absolutely confirmed all the rumours going around that there will be a manual transmission next year for the M5. She also said the next m3 will be offered with a manual as well. Apparently the american market has quite a bit of influence with BMW given that we are the biggest BMW M marketplace!

well.... the M5 will get a manual and it's only going to be in the US. everywhere else will only get the F1 shifting. it's not influence, it's all about money.
What is better? Isn't SMG a lot more fun (never drove one)?

the smg is faster, but it would be a tossup on fun. with all the gadgetry of an smg... like launch control....
