View Full Version : Where to go in Dallas?

I'm in Dallas now until Wednesday (actually I'm leaving Thursday afternoon but I'm going to be working all day and going straight to the airport afterwards).

I don't have all that much free time, only nights after 7:30pm or so (and have to wake up early every day).

So given this limited timeframe, what are some good places (restaurants, whatever) to go to while I'm here?

I'm staying at the Hyatt Regency, a few blocks from West End (which I know has a lot of good places). Walking distance would be preferred, but I'd consider a cab/DART ride if the recommendation is high enough.

P.S.- Alan, you are gonna drop by and let me thrash your Ferrari, right? :D

Can't do lunch, it'd have to be dinner, like after 7:30pm tomorrow or ~6pm Wed.

One of my fav. placed in town is Pappa Brothers Steak house. about a 10 minute cab ride out of town.

Killer, and I mean killer steaks and the best Lobster bisque in the country.

Expect $80 or so for one dinner.

Shit, when my company's president is with us, it's nuts. A while back the tab for a ten person dinner was over $2500.

Yeah lets not go to Pappa Brothers. I'm sure its great but damn that is way too much more than I'm willing to spend on dinner.

Eric, be sure to call me man. Wednesday night is even better since I'll get to sleep after work.

Well, whereto then? :dunno

I'm planning to go to Morton's tonight anyway, so I guess it's not that big of a deal. So maybe a nice Mexican restaurant or something?

Nope, but it doesn't surprise me at all. I'm here for the Defense Information Systems Agency conference at the Hyatt Regency. A lot of people from VA are in town this week as it's DoD.

Well where should I go then? I didn't go out to eat last night. I was gonna go there because it's so close (like a three minute walk).
