When I autox I flip the armrest up (PO installed), actually I always drive with up. But under max braking it flops down & kinda gets in the way of shifting & hits my elbow when doing max fast steering maneuvers. Is there an easy way to tighten it. Did a search & there's an elaborate teardown article & comment about rotating a rubber part. Just wondering what other racers do? I don't really see the advantage of having the armrest, it's just extra dead weight?

If you don't use it then just take it out. It may not be much, but all the little things you remove add up. That and its in your way so it deserves to DIE!

Seems like a little bit of racer's tape to the back of the two front seats would be plenty to hold it up.

Me, too... Until I just got rid of it for a non armrest console. :)

The side bolsters on my seats now prevent it from moving. I guess I should just take it off then.

When I'm at the track, I just make a loop in the rear seatbelt and slip it over the armrest when it's in the up position. I think it has come down once in about 30 days at the track.
