View Full Version : Tubi or Hartge exhaust? hsmith 04-23-2005, 06:28 PM My brother is deciding between these two exhausts. Which one is louder? Does anyone have any sound clips of the Hartge? Thanks. RPM_M3 04-23-2005, 06:38 PM I don't put stuff on my car for sound, I go for performance and quality. I checked into some reviews and found the AA had dyno tested improvements, good feedback, and quality fit and finish (without paying several grand). And as a bonus, it sounds great full throttle (check audio clips on aatuning.com). My 2 cents. keiphers 04-23-2005, 07:38 PM I don't put stuff on my car for sound, I go for performance and quality. While this is a good thing, keep in mind that an exhaust won't really give you that much noticeable gain in performance. Quality and weight however are extremely important. As for quality, Tubi is amazing. I don't know much about Hartge though. I've heard the AA exhaust is also an amazing piece. You ought to check out the Supersprint Race though. It sounds incredible and is one of the lightest. It'll give modest gains too. The only real gains to be had in an exhaust system are from systems like the Kreis-Sieg. Just my $.02. Check out http://www.klangford.com/ for a bunch of exhaust sounds. hsmith 04-23-2005, 07:42 PM Thanks for the responses. My brother has researched many exhuasts and these are his two favorites. Being that both will yeild similar performance and similar weight, he is interested in which one is louder. mmmpowr 04-23-2005, 09:04 PM Quality/build of both systems are exceptional, but I would say the Tubi is louder. The Hartge is made by Supersprint and the sound is probably similar to the SS sport exhaust, which is quieter than the Tubi. jesusfreak 04-24-2005, 03:29 AM SS race :buttrock 96INFMSM3 04-24-2005, 03:50 AM While this is a good thing, keep in mind that an exhaust won't really give you that much noticeable gain in performance. That was the info I had from 3 years ago, so things could have changed in that time. keiphers 04-24-2005, 01:38 PM Are you certain that the Hartge is made by SuperSprint? RST 04-24-2005, 02:15 PM I say go with Tubi. From the videos on Klangford, the Tubi sounds awesome. I concur. That is my driveby video of the TUBI. If you want 1st hand experience on the TUBI system, PM me and I would be more than happy to share my experience. Currently I am running Supersprint S pipe, TUBI midpipe and exhaust. Also, I am thinking about selling my car and parting out the parts. Let me know if you would interested in the exhaust system.. keiphers 04-24-2005, 02:41 PM I concur. What are the weight savings over stock? johnG 04-24-2005, 05:26 PM get the borla and with the money you save you can get the mid-pipes :alright mmmpowr 04-24-2005, 05:39 PM What are the weight savings over stock? Just 2 or 3 lbs. RST 04-24-2005, 07:17 PM get the borla and with the money you save you can get the mid-pipes :alright I heard the exhaust in person many times over and didn't like the sound (IMO). Made the rasp much louder and it had a race bike sound. I know people who have bought, installed, uninstalled and sold cuz of the sound. Again, just my opinion. If you can find someone who has it locally, I would encourage you to listen to it in person. As for the TUBI, one of the best sounding. The build quality is top notch. They didn't make too many of these and the midpipes they made less. If i'm not mistaken the midpipe is numbered. Here are some pics. I will find one (exhaust) that's out of the box and post it. For now, here are a few. Laguna01///M3 04-24-2005, 07:41 PM Yes i had the SS exhaust, and the Hartge. The Hartge was MUCH louder, and better sounding than the SS. Im not talking about the SS race, just the regular SS muffler. I also had the SS resonatorless midpipe.. Regards Walter hsmith 04-24-2005, 07:54 PM Yes i had the SS exhaust, and the Hartge. Regards Walter Walter, Thanks for the input. Do you know if the Hartge is made by SuperSprint? Is auto-mark.com the only place to purchase Hartge parts? hsmith 04-24-2005, 07:57 PM RST, Thanks for your review of the Tubi and thanks for the offer on yours although he is looking for a new one. Where did you purchase your Tubi exhaust from? Thanks. RST 04-24-2005, 08:02 PM RST, Thanks for your review of the Tubi and thanks for the offer on yours although he is looking for a new one. I bought mine from a local Ferrari dealer (since TUBI specializes in Ferraris), otherwise go here (www.beastpower.com) Good luck! hsmith 04-24-2005, 11:14 PM I bought mine from a local Ferrari dealer (since TUBI specializes in Ferraris), otherwise go here (www.beastpower.com) Good luck!
