For my '99 M3, Im looking for new wheel locks for my Fikses.. IVe been using the Mcgards, but, the material that is used to cut the eccentric pattern inside the key is so soft, that its very easily damaged. Ive had it with these..
I much prefer the type that BMW Dealers sell, because they use Splines instead of a very thin eccentric pattern, to turn the lock bolts. However, the problem im finding is that all Ive seen available is Black lock bolts with Black plastic covers.. These are going to be going on my Fikse rims, which have chrome colored Lug bolts.. The chrome on the bolts tends to flake over time, so Im probably going to be changing them to a dull finished Silver bolt.. In either case, the Black BMW Locks arent going to look so great. I was hoping to get either a Chrome finish, or a dull Silver finish.. I think either would be a preferable to Black.
What do you guys think? How bad, on fikse rims, would one black lock on each wheel look, when the rest of the 4 bolts are either chrome, or silver? Anybody know if these bmw locks are available with Silver caps instead of or in addition to Black?
thanks.
