Now that summer is coming around I have been using my AC every day. When the AC turns on a high pitched squeeling and scraping from the front of my car (assuming it is a fan) follows immediately after.

I am not sure if something rusted over the winter or something simple needs replacing. If this subject has already been brought up, then please point me to the correct thread.

I think I'm hearing what you are hearing. This may sound dumb but...does it sound like a kazoo or a harmonica?

First thing you've gotta do is get out of the car and stick your ear next to the fan. If it sounds like that's where the noise is from, and it's running, then disable it by removing the fuse. If the noise stops and starts as you remove and plug in the fan fuse, it's a good indication the fan is faulty.
