emotiongarage 04-21-2005, 09:42 PM Are these the whole headlight unit? So I take my old one out and put this in? These are the glass covers not the plastic ones right?
Yes, Glass Covers, entire Unit. You will have to wire up the HID kit if you choose the options, if not, Philips/Sylvania bulbs are all included anyways!

mmmbeefy42 05-01-2005, 10:26 AM Dammit. I just payed $310 for these like a week ago.
Good deal.
jsp98m3 05-01-2005, 10:49 AM HIDS4U is the value line supplied by XtecUSA. It is a unti utilizing an integrated ballast and bulbs from Xtec. The ballast has a warranty of 1 year from the factory and a lifetime warranty on the bulbs. XtecUSA is currently extending the ballast warranty to 5 years. I'll forward some kit pictures to Will at Emotion Garage so he can post them in case he can't locate pictures quickly.

salvia.D 05-01-2005, 02:48 PM how bright are these during the day?
NorBayE36 05-02-2005, 01:25 AM This is a great bang for buck set-up. Great quality, not to mention a superb seller that will stand by their products.
salvia.D 05-02-2005, 01:25 AM do u have these? can u votch for thier day-time quality?
mastermind 05-02-2005, 01:51 AM post pics with cars with it on?
Topless Bimmer 05-02-2005, 02:21 AM i 2 wanna see them on a car and some daytime pics with them on :)
i posted on this mad long time ago to see what kind of rings on are theses but there has been no resonse.. :rolleyes
salvia.D 05-02-2005, 02:34 PM im wondering the same thing.....
neal1st 05-02-2005, 04:38 PM they are most likely LED
jsp98m3 05-02-2005, 04:44 PM This isn't my thread so I won't get into too much. Especially since I am not the supplier of the lights to Emotion Garage. But I can tell you with complete knowledge that the rings are definitely NOT LED.
There are silver tipped hyper-white bulbs (5) behind the ring and they do a credible job in the daylight. They aren't DDE but they aren't LED by a long shot.
Jim
salvia.D 05-02-2005, 04:47 PM so are they quality?
jsp98m3 05-02-2005, 04:49 PM so are they quality?
Yes, they are the same Projector36 lights all of us are selling. He just didn't buy them from me. DDE can be added. Maybe even from Emotion Garage. The cost is minimal.
salvia.D 05-02-2005, 04:50 PM whats the difference between DDE and what these have already?
jsp98m3 05-02-2005, 04:55 PM whats the difference between DDE and what these have already?
With DDE the halos will be 2-3 times brighter and more even in color. These are not uneven, DDE is just MORE even. That makes no sense at all but it is still true :)
But these aren't bad the way they are. DDE is just better.
Jim
salvia.D 05-02-2005, 05:13 PM thanks for clarifiying
RayMan 05-02-2005, 07:34 PM Yes, Glass Covers, entire Unit. You will have to wire up the HID kit if you choose the options, if not, Philips/Sylvania bulbs are all included anyways!
What kind of work is involved in "wiring up" the HID kit? Plug and play or is there Dremel work needed?
Sh0wty 05-03-2005, 09:57 AM I may be interested in these. I have to get a pair of headlights very very soon.

mmmbeefy42 05-05-2005, 01:35 AM Just to clarify, all elipsoids have city lights, correct? And on all, it's an easy operation to disable the corners (turn signals) so that they don't light up when your parking lights are on, just when the turn singnals are, so that the city lights function as parking lights, right? Because it just looks so pimp.
Thanks. New to the light game, but already $370 in and obsessed.
supark 05-05-2005, 02:40 AM Damn! The installed pics look sweet. Must... disable... financially responsible... part of brain....
louisianajobe 05-05-2005, 02:52 AM if they are ccfl, im interested, otherwise, im really not.

The AE's are like OEM and are illuminated by wedge bulbs.
oraph 05-06-2005, 05:11 PM weren't these selling for $200 at the end of last year.... why the price hike?
638E36 05-06-2005, 05:18 PM i think what you mean for $200 is only for the AE only...this one is included everything. DEPO Projector headlight + AE
And more pic coming soon....as soon as i get off from work...hahahaha

What kind of work is involved with the HID option? Are the HID bulbs plug and play into the headlight fixture?
emotiongarage 05-10-2005, 10:10 PM What kind of work is involved with the HID option? Are the HID bulbs plug and play into the headlight fixture?
Installing the HID's into the headlights requires you to dremel a small (~2" diameter) circle in the back of the light cover to accept the new bulb harness. It's a minor modification and takes about 5 seconds on each side.

flyride 05-11-2005, 10:21 AM Can you do $225 shipped to Ontario, Canada as well? These have the black background with the stock look - correct? (I ordered a set from another vendor 6 months ago and got the chrome background ones - I ended up keeping them and using them but now I want to go back to a stock look)
E-mail me at flyride@gmail.com
bkcraun 05-11-2005, 10:35 AM What exactly is involved in hooking up the basic $225 set? Do the AE's come on with your head light switch? Is it simply a mattter of hooking the new lights into the existing harnesses? If so, I'm very interested.

rivets 05-11-2005, 01:43 PM It's a pretty straightforward procedure. It took me roughly an hour or so to get everything installed. Hardest part was aiming the headlights and setting them into the area correctly.
You just have to remove the existing headlights and pop in the new ones using the stock mounting points. All hardware was included and you just need to route a couple wires to the battery terminal.
The AE's in my setup comes on with the parking light as well as the driving lights. I'm sure theres ways to modify it so that it comes on w/ the fogs only or just parking lights only...etc....
After installing a pair of 6k xtec hids, this is definitely one of my favorite mods to date and well worth the price.

Do you have a picture of the one wire that is run to the battery terminal? Do you tap into the (+) box under the hood and for ground on a bolt? I'm getting ready to install mine, it sounds fairly simple except for the tapping power to that wire.
I just want to make sure I got as much info as possible before I start the project; I don't want to cause a short in the lighting system.
Thanks in advanced!
A
donoman 05-31-2005, 11:35 PM I soldered mine to the battery terminal.
ZRATED 06-01-2005, 03:03 PM I used a nut to bolt it to the (+) terminal under the hood
I set my angel eyes up to light up when my ignition is on so they are always on when the car is running. I know most people connect them to the parking lights I just wanted to be different :D
LWRNCE 06-01-2005, 03:09 PM Will how much for just the HID kit... I need a set for my fogs.
Silent Killer 06-01-2005, 05:04 PM How bright are these AE without the HID's. Does anyone have a pic of any brand of AE w/o any HID's? Does it still look white or is it yellowish?
