Morning,

I have been speaking to a couple members here about engine builders. I am trying to get an idea of pricing for a rebuild, basically a showroom stock motor. I have spoken to Sunbelt, very nice folks, and have attempted to speak to VAC, completely unresponsive even though I called three times. I have yet to call stickley, but will do so shortly. Besides these three, I was hoping that you folks could provide some input into who else I should contact. As always, many thanks for the help.

Pete McHenry in Winston-Salem

As far as VAC goes, Tony's wife recently had a baby and he's been a little, um, distracted.

For an E30, you should talk to Don Fields at Mr. MCar. He's located by the Jersey shore.

I agree with DBurke. They will absolutely take the time to make sure that all components used are compatible/within spec and that the motor is built to last.

Stickley by far. :) A friend of mine works with Stickley and lives in Baltimore. He could work with you.

Also did a motor on one of our cars too. Our car and John's (vjlax18) both have sister engines and I must say they run very very well. Let me or john know if you would like his number.

Chuck is excellent but is PACKED with motors. You will be waiting a while since he is doing Grand Am motors which take priority. I'd def email him since he is not picking up his phone so he can work.
