What speed is dependent on what tires came with the car originally. Your 740i is probably limited to 127mph, while a 740i Sport with better OE tires is limited to 155mph. Your spell checker must be broken... "what" came out spelled wrong. You will notice that E38's (now talking 740s) underwent only two changes. The introduction of the M62 in the 1996/7 season, and the Facelift in 1998/9 season. In the states you also had the infamous sportmodel with some other goodies. The Thread that Rob mentioned earlier covers about all the info on these issues including the different engines... You said your speedo goes up to 180? Cool! I'd love to see a pic of your gauge... Got an Alpina or G-Power or Schnitzer or even ///M-Gauge? |
