I just purchsed a 1988 735 or as most of this site has called it the E32. The only problem is with the windshield wiper motor, the previous owner said it kept burning up due to the computer chip that controls the wiper blade angle during driving. Has anyone else had this problem or know if it is common? Also anthing special I should be ready for with this new toy? Thanks

hi. i don't think that there is any chip that controls the angle of the wiper blade. if you look at the mechanical setup of the entire wiper system, it is literally all mechanical...no motor of other moving part that can control the angle.

i think you may simply have a blown motor. show it to someone else for a second opinion.

thanks for the info, i just got the shop manual today so if it stops snowing, ill have to go take a closer look.
