Ordered the BavAuto stainless lines for my 95M3 b/c they are the
only ones that have the teflon coating.

Received the lines about two weeks later even though they told me they have them in stock and would ship immediately.

Okay no problem.

So Ian and I go to install them last weekend and the first one we install (front driver's side) is leaking like crazy at the place where the line meets the end fitting. Well shit, car is all apart and no local shops that sell lines. Had to stick with the stock lines. :(

Contact BavAuto, leave them a message b/c it's Sunday and they're closed. (phone message tells you please leave a message and they'll get back to you next business day).

Until yesterday (Thursday 4 days later) no response. I email them, no response.

Finally call them today, and get the "we usually won't give a refund, but will this time since you couldn't finish your job." Boy am I lucky!

All in all, it worked out okay, but not the best experience.

YMMV

Just curious, what type of wrench were you using to install these lines?

The proper size flare nut wrench.

The leak wasn't where I could've messed it up.

Very unusual.

Must of been a bad batch.

Since it was the first one on the car, I didn't check the others.

I'll just go with Earl's lines next time.

BTW, I was glad to see the Turner team last weekend on the Speedvision (oops, I mean Speed) Touring Car series. I wasn't
sure if Speed had done away with showing the touring/gt series.

Thanks for watching, even though the LRP race was a disaster. We are off to Mid-Ohio for the next round to redeem ourselves.

SPEED has a contract that was signed with SCCA 3 years ago. So they are bound to that for 2 more years. After that who knows? They did cut the budget quite a bit however. (A lot less in car cameras, fewer TV replays, a smaller trailer and rig for SCCA, etc.)

I bought an oiling kit for my motorcycle that used some SS lines, and I had exactly the same problem. They were Earl's lines, too. Fortunately, the kit manufacturer sent me a new line, and I sent the defective one back so they could figure out what went wrong with it.

Sucks, because I had to cut the stock metal pipe to put the SS lines in, so my bike was a big paperweight for a couple of weeks until I could get the replacement and install it. But the new line was fine, so it ended ok.
