Another inspirational picture of our customer's setup. It's a Mustang 05GT shift boot in two version of RED and BLACK two-tone with QUADRUPLE thread: CONTRASTING (red stitch on black panels and black stitch on red ones) and an additional row of outside SILVER thread. It's a great combo for that car, which is a red 05GT with aluminum accents in it's normally black interior. The leather ties the dominant interior color together with the exterior, and the thread matches the aluminum accents.

The first version is left side black, right side red, the second one is alternating.

I was actually surprised when I saw these after I picked them up from my seamstress. It looks awesome in my opinion - much better than I expected it to.

I treated mine as replacement leather when I installed it a couple weeks ago and followed the online instructions from their site too. Not sure why they told you its a cover, unless maybe it can be either way?...

Yes..its all from them. The e-brake boot had slightly too much material (you can see in the pics its very bunched up) but other than that excellent fitment and great quality leather.

I don't, I'm afraid. To be honest it's not as thick as leather, it's something in between the vinyl (which your stock boots are made from) and our leather.

Certainly. Please just enter in the comments field in the order form some info about this requirement, the measurement of the opening needed would be great (if you measure the circumference of the part of the handle that is to go inside the boot, that would be perfect).

Well this sucks, I went to install the shift and ebrake boots and things went to shit. The Leather on the shift boot is almost twice as thick as the stock shift boot so now the bracket that it's glued to doesn't fit back in properly. Also, my ebrake boot didn't come with enough material so when I put the ebrake down, the neck of the boot slides down the handle and exposes the metal. This sucks.

I think you should ship these already glued to a new plastic mounting bracket so you just pop the old one off and slide the new one on.

No I already did but I have two problems: 1. The leather is too thick so after gluing the shift boot in place, it doesn't install properly. and 2. There was not enough material on my e-brake boot so it cannot fully sit in the down position.

Got mine. PIA to install. Re-use the factory bracket is a joke. The leather is to thick and won't let the factory bracket sit correctly after all glued up. It looked like total shit. Threw shift boot and ebrake in the trash, where they belong. Waste of money, very unsatisfied.

Guess you get what you pay for. I'm going to reorder from leatherz.com.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. FYI if the other vendor makes them with thick leather as we do, you'll be having the same problems anyway. Which is strange because it seems that you're the first one to complain about installation as far as I can recall.

Actually, so was I. The center console (shift boot, brake boot, armrest cover) does get a break in the sun pretty often - depending on which way you park the car. In Texas I imagine the dash barely ever gets any shade. I'd guess 4 months on the dash would be like 2 years in the cockpit of the car. Unless you drive a convertible and the top is always down, of course. :)

What's the difference between this perforated black, and the one in your above post? How do I make sure mine isn't that shiny? I like the one in this post better.

It's the same leather. The only difference is that the picture you inserted was taken in different lighting conditions and without flash on the camera.

Flash always makes the leathers look more shiny.
