Would this work on my 2002? My friend said that he could make it bolt right up to the downdraft manifold. Its a Weber 45 dual chamber sidedraft carb. Im sorry if this is a stupid question, but I would like to know if it would perform better than my 32/36 downdraft. Also, if it does work, how much worse would my gas mileage be? Thanks for your time.

You would really have to customize a 32/36 manifold to get that to work. I really don't even think that would work. Have you looked into trying to find a lynx single sidedraft manifold? As to the performance, it would perform better is if it is properly setup and tuned. You would notice a nice improvement. Gas mileage would not be much worse it the carb was tuned properly. Im sure others will chime in.

Thanks alot, I appreciate the detailed response! I was just going to try and save up for the dual 45 DCOE sidedraft weber carb conversion, but I was thinking if this could work, my friend would give me the single 45 for free.

Okay, does the float on a sidedraft have to be mounted sideways to work properly, hence it is called a sidedraft. Same with a downdraft, am I wrong? I don't know...

No problem, ask away. I dug up a pic of backtrail's single 45dcoe steup with the lynx manifold.

DCOE's MUST be mounted horizonaly, IDA, IDF, DCNF must be mounted verticaly.

I figured so, since the floats on each are different. I just didn't want to sound like I was talkin out my :buttrock
