Well it seems some of us are interested in meeting on Sat May 28.

So what I was thinking is that we could meet, perhaps at Goerke's again, drive to a park and have a cookout.

At the end of the night if people are interested we could go out (to the bars)

There are a few things that need to be awnsered (so please awnser the following):

1)Are you interested in attending?
2)Are you interested in the cookout idea (that will take some work and cordination and it is not worth my time if 4 peeps show up- no offense Ryan, Branko, and Adam)
3) If not the cookout, SUGGEST SOMETHING
4)Time (1-2)/(4-6)/Evening

Lets start the summer off right with a proper meet!!!!!!

1. yes
2. yes (assuming that everything could be corrdinated) Are you planning like a pot-luck type cookout where everyone brings someting to share?
4. either time is fine (I would suggest 4-6 into the evening)

BTW what is Goerke's and where is it?

#2 - I think a bring your own meat and something to pass/share.
Stuff to share
1.Dishes
2.Sodas
3.Grill
4.Charcoal
5.Lighter fluid
6.Grilling tools
7.Other foods,etc.

#3 - Goerkes is a Park and Ride in Waukesha, pretty big lot. It is off the corner of Bluemound and Barker road.
Westpoint Theaters and Lexus of Brookfield are just east of Goerkes. It is south of Bluemound, and on the west side of Barker.

why don't we have the meet at someone's house if we're going to cookout...unless anyone has an X5 how are you going to fit a grille in the back of your bimmer?

im interested for sure.

anytime would work for me, and cooking out sounds like a good idea. im sure a couple people could bring those small, round charcoal grills.

and i also fit into the 21 and under group.

I was thinking Goerkes corners, but I wasn't 100% certain. I used to work at Lexus so I know the area well. I'm definatly down for that. I'll be keeping watch on this thread so just let me know what's up when everything is finalized.

Hey guys.

Been busy with school.

Anyway, I will need help with putting this meet together - I have 3 weeks left of school and I have to get ready to move out.
(April 24 - May 13)
The following week I will be in Hawaii: :redspot :alright
(May 15-May 22)
Then I start summer school. I also will have limited internet connection after the 13.
(May 23, summer school starts)
I will be home on May 27.

If you are interested in the meet, and can help out, please, email/PM me.

Thanks.

sachin528

I was hoping some would post or contact me so we could figure something out. I have been swamped at school - and it is tough setting things up 260 miles away.

I'm game and will still help cordinate, but I need someone at that end to help me plan and cordinate the effort.

If everyone is otherwise occupied, we can meet at Hooters on the 28th for Beer and Wings.

im in! I love wings.....but umm yeah we need some more bimmers. I keep seeing all these sick ass Bmw's but nobody on the forums.....i think its time for a bimmerforums literature drop. Im gonna print up some and leave them on peoples windshields when i see a bimmer. Just wait a bunch of 50 yo women will be on here pimping thier rides with coconut air fresheners.....hahahhaa

I'd be down with going to hooters and getting some wings. I live downtown so it's not that far from me.

I'll be there, showing my car, too. Last year I came in 2nd place in my judged class, and was told I came within a few votes of winning "People's Choice", which was scandalous since I have an E46 and not a 2002 or Bavaria or other old BMW - or even an "M" car.

I think I'll be at a show with my GTO on the 28th. Have a family picnic on the 29th. So I don't think I can make a get-together unless it is in my neighborhood ;)

If there's no show for my GTO on the 28th, how about this? - I live near Doctor's Park, maybe y'all can have a picnic there? It's right on Lake Michigan and there's really nice facilities and a big parking lot. The park is on Dean Road a few blocks east of Lake Drive. We could meet at the south end of Lincoln Memorial Drive, maybe at the Calatrava parking lot, and then cruise north on Lincoln Memorial to Lake Drive then to the park. If it's a nice sunny day we could also try and get some cool pictures of our cars with the art museum in the background, or in the woods at the park.

Dude, I live in Bayside on Lake Drive. Where are you near Doctors Park? That's my neighborhood, I can walk there from my house via the Lake. Let me know, I probably drive past doctor's park 2 times a day.

we used to do donuts in that parking lot when we were in high school, like 10 years ago. I haven't been to the park in a while.

PM'ed you. If you haven't been to Doctors Park in a while you'd be surprised by how nice it is now. They remodeled the bathrooms, put in a really nice playground, did a bunch of landscaping, etc. And it's never crowded, it's like no one knows it's there. In the summer the beach is really nice and it rarely is closed like a lot of the beaches to the south.

Don't think you could get away with doing donuts there now, LOL.

I don't know if any of you heard, but this weekend the art museum was painted-up by some low-life vandals. I havn't seen any pictures, but alot of people were talking about it at work today. Seriously, that is probably the nicest building in WI and a great spot to take pictures, and some punkass kids thought it would be cool to tag it. I admit, I did alot of stupid shit in my younger days, but DAMN!

HELL YEAH!!!!! :buttrock :buttrock

That sounds great. When would you know about the show for the GTO?

Actually, can you provide details for the show? It'll be fun to go to a car show too.

Lets try to arrange something.....

My thoughts are that people from the West side (inc. Madison) and from Appleton, Wind City, can perhaps meet at Goerke's and we can either drive to the show or to that park.

At the park we can cook out and then go shoot some pics.

I think that would be fun and a great way to start off the summer. (and a fun way to celebrate my b-day)

Yep that's who I went through. The film was less than $20 shipped and was precut to fit the E36 foglight. I also added PIAA yellow ion H1 bulbs ($60/pair on eBay) to complete the conversion. These two things are what most of the GT/Le Mans cars run for their headlights. I ran with fogs only one night and visibility was excellent even at 100MPH :evil2 I really only use them now if it's really foggy or rainy since the HID's work very well by themselves.

I'm game either way. Hooter's and some wings are fine if it's a small gathering, otherwise a cookout will allow more people to actually be "involved."

GOOD WEATHER
Meet in respected areas (west side, north side, etc)
Anyone from Madison, Waukesha area - if you want to meet at Goerke's -

Drive down to the Doctor's Park.....
Meet up with the rest of the bf.c 'rs
Go get some food (if the park has some grills we can go get some meat from a grocery store and grill out)
After food go for a photoshoot and some driving

Good Weather = 50s+ and sunny. I am not going to cookout in the current weather

BAD WEATHER
Wings and beer.

Time - I was thinking 2:00 - How does that sound

You can email/PM me if you want my cell #.

I'll come to doctor's park. It's real close to where I live. Post what time you expect to be at Doctors Park. Lake Drive isn't a good road to go for a spirited drive on. You can't really go more than 35-40, but it's a nice cruise on a warmer day.

What I thought we'd do is that on the way down to the park we could stop at a store and pick up some stuff.....
We could split the cost.

since some of us are under 21, and we will be driving, I would prefer an alcohol free event, cause the last thing we want to deal with is DWIs but I can't stop anyone.....

I will PM Jeff and see if there is a grill we can use at the park, or if any one knows please chime in.

1. Will you be meeting at Goerke's Corners or at Dr.'s Park? Goerke's Corners is a park and ride on the south-west corner of Bluemound Road and Barker Road in Brookfield. It is just west of Acura and Lexus of Brookfield, and just east of the Ultrascreen. Dr.'s Park is on Dean Road (just south of Brown Deer Road) a few blocks east of Lake Drive, by Lake Michigan.

Please see the following maps: http://img93.echo.cx/img93/9043/gc9wk.gif

http://img26.echo.cx/img26/1526/park2ub.gif

2. Please include your cell phone number so that if something changes we can contact you.

Time Frame: Meet at Goerke's Corners at 2:00. Leave Goerke's Corners no later than 2:15. Arrive at Dr.'s Park around 3:00. On the way to Dr.'s Park, we will be picking up some food to grill and some drinks. If you don't plan on meeting at Goerkie's Corners, you may want to bring some food and drinks for yourself.

After we are done eating and relaxing, it was suggested that we have a photoshoot near the park or near Lake Michigan by the Milwaukee Art Museum. After the photoshoot, we are planning on going for a cruise. The cruise path has not been decided yet, and will probably be decided at the park, so that everyone has some input.

That is all the information I currently have. Again, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact one of us. We are going to try to have this go as smoothly as possible, so that everyone can have a great Memorial Day, and spend some time with fellow BF.com-ers. :redspot

I stopped in at the park last night and did not see any grills. However, the picnic area is pretty big so I'll have to go back and roam around a bit (I didn't get out of my car last night) and see for sure if there are any grills available. I seem to recall that they are, but the park has been renovated and they may have removed the grills.

As far as alcohol is concerned, I'm 99.99% sure it is prohibited in the park so please leave it at home. Also, since some of the participants will be under 21 we don't want to have to worry about us old guys getting arrested for providing alcohol to underage people (regardless of who actually brings it, the old folks get blamed). The Fox Point police don't kid around about this stuff, so if I see anyone with alcohol I will be turning around and going home.

Jeff is right, I was arrested by the fox point police when I was in high school, they don't mess around. It was funny though

I wouldn't plan on bringing any alcohol. I'm 50/50 for making it on saturday, we've been really busy at work, I'll have to work, but we'll see what time i get off and how motivated i feel.

Aww, c'mon Dave! I work 70+ hours/week, plus I'm probably as old as any 2 other people here combined, and I'll be there, at least for an hour or two. Maybe more. Also, that People's Choice M3 is sweet, gotta let The People see it!

you work at home. If I could do what I do from the house, extra hours wouldn't be a big deal at all. Honestly, I'm just burnt out right now, I need some rest time. But I'll probably make an appearance.

Just got back from the park, there are NO grills available. So if you want to grill something, you'll either need to bring your own grill or make sure someone else is bringing one. All I have is a BIG gas grill so I can't bring one.

LOL, there's a McDonald's about a mile away at Brown Deer Rd and Port Washington Rd. :redspot

Or, they sell cheap charcoal grills at Walmart for like $2.99, plus charcoal.

Sorry man -

Check regional more often. I'll try to get something together probably for Forth of july weekend.

That would be great if you would come down from appleton for a meet.

People are coming out and showing which is nice, it makes organizing these things worthwhile.

We/I will definitely contact you for our next get together....
