Hey I wanted to know who would be down for going to mid ohio to watch the speed world touring cars on the 21st of May? It's ALMS weekend too.
I wanted to get a caravan going, and have some people to hang out with while we watched the race.

yeah, i'll be there on sunday. Was originally going to go the whole weekend but a friend is getting married. I was wondering if anyone else has heard about the ALMS series coming to cleveland this year too. I heard through a couple different sourses that Road America overbooked thier track so they were moving the race to Cleveland.

They are it's on the Cleveland Gran Prix track....it's June 25th I believe

I was thinking about camping out Saterday night up there so I can watch the race on Sunday too. I want to go up on that Saterday though early. I was thinking we could meet off 71 somewhere.

A few buddies and I go every year, so we will be there Saturday & Sunday. We have infield parking passes, so we'll see you there!

Good deal. I need to grab some infield parking passes too. I also need to get my tickets asap....LOL

i'm defineately going to be there on sunday but i'm going to shoot for being there on saturday as well.

Well when I ordered my ticket I mentioned the letter I received and she gave me a free infield parking pass---so you may want to say something and see if they will give you one as well. Cant hurt to ask

Okay guys here's the deal. I'm going up on Saturday and Sunday so I figured we could have a drive both days. I think the speed touring car race is on Saturday and the ALMS race is on sunday. I think we may be meeting at Polarus Mall and driving up from there (it's right off 71 for those that don't know the area.) More info to follow

It will be early, so the mall might not even be open yet. They shouldn't give us a hard time. Plus I only plan on waiting around for 30-45 minutes for everyone to show up.

Okay... let's get some dates and times set in stone. Since we'll be meeting so early on Saturday and Sunday we can just meet at the Waffle House across from Polaris Mall. Let's plan on LEAVING there at 8:30AM on Saturday May 21st. So, If you want to grab a bite before we leave be there between 7:30 and 8:00AM. The ALMS Practice starts at 9:35 and the Formula BMW qualifying starts at 10:45, so we will get there in time for that.
Here's the breakdown for the weekend...

Either post on here, or PM me so I know who to wait for. Randy (HelmetBoy01) and I are organizing this together, so I'm not hijacking his thread. Hope to see a good turnout that weekend. Randy and I will be driving up both days.

well i don't think i'm going to drive past mid-ohio to meet you guys (sorry). but if there's people meeting in cleveland for a drive then maybe we all could meet up at the track or outside the track and all roll in together.

just fyi...only SPEED World Challenge will be at Cleveland. The series officials werent happy with the track time they were given so they got up and left. ALMS will not attend cleveland and will stick with headlining the Road America weekend.

The weekend is looking damn good---70s and sunny.

Didn't see the car out there, I did see another guy I know who has an Avus blue M3 with a Dinan Supercharger though. And this really nice black E36 328 was parked a car down from mine......I wonder who that was????HMMMM?? BTW, I should be parking in the same spot in the infield tomorrow, unless it rains.....then I'll be looking for higher ground.

That was you guys with the 330 and 540 parked a few down from me on Saturday. I thought it was, and I was going to leave a business card on your window to call my cell. I wasnt 100% sure so I didnt. We need to organize a meet in Cbus, so we can actually shoot the shit.
