Looking to use them in the 5er, just wanted to "hear" some opinions.

Looking to use them in the 5er, just wanted to "hear" some opinions. I listened to some JL VRs before I bought my Quarts. I didn't like them. They're sound was certainly not commensurate to their price--they were very midrange-y, very muddy sounding. Listen to them yourself and see what you think. However, there are better speakers out there for the price. Jon A. 04-13-2005, 12:39 PM What about the XRs or ZRs? I listened to the XRs but couldn't really compare to anything else, I was in a small local shops sound area. imedina79 04-13-2005, 04:38 PM ^^I'd like to know about the XR as well. I'm about to buy a 5.25 set on ebay. TheMuchacho 04-13-2005, 07:25 PM Ive heard them, i didnt like the VR's, i didnt like the XR's. Way too dull IMO. hard to explain but you would just have to take a listen for yourself. I would look into CDT, OZ, image dynamics, DLS, morel (israel), adire audio, RE components are suppose to be great as well. SehrSchnell 04-14-2005, 07:26 PM Thanks for your input guys. Muddy or dull is exactly what I was trying to avoid. I am wishing for something crisp for stock replacements. My initial first choice was MB's, sounds like this would be a better choice. Raphy 04-14-2005, 08:08 PM My brother has Vr's all around and with any sort of equalizer, they will sound bad ass. There great and the tweeters are extremely powerful. I would recommend XR's to anybody with any system! |
