actually...2:09's and 2:10's from last year were our fast times for Simon and I respectively in the Enduro...lol!!! we were running 2:11's in practice with the practice tire set :) ...that was last April, the motor now has 7 race weekends (14 races and tons of practice and quals) on it from that time and it's a basic 3.0L stock bottom end with off the shelf common shrick cams (read: controversy in CR now due to pistons makes me glad I couldn't afford a rebuild this off season)...we do have a different spring rate and bar setup on the car now though so maybe that'll make a difference...I'm not running in the race this weekend there, but do plan to run in the Ofest race weekend there.

hey KJ...wazzup bro :) ...I'd like to do the Mazda DE event at VIR Grand course, that should be fun...other than that I'm planning on doing some races in NASA GTS Challenge, and Ofest at VIR as well as a couple of other races in the tirerack BMW CCA series hopefully Watkins Glen, Mid Ohio, and long shot Road Atlanta...

Had a great year racing last season, learned so much and met a lot of cool folks. So are you gonna race with PCA CR? It's gonna be a light year for me in terms of track/racing stuff...got lots going on, and time and money are not as disposable this year :(

lol :D :stickoutt ...KJ's got nothin' to worry about, he's a skillfull driver and with his 996 in race trim and him getting some seat time behind his well set up machine he should be able to easily post a laptime well inside of 2:09...in order to be competitive with his peers, he'd need to be low 2 mins I'd think...remmember my car is an H-prepared class car (not a modified class car) so it is not nearly fully developed compared to Mod level cars and not even fully developed for my own class as a Prepared level car, heck it still to this day has the original factory clutch, flywheel, and shifter that it had 10 years ago :eek: ...in BMW CCA, the fastest CMod guys are running in the 2:03 - 2:05 range!

I drove a stock 911 GT3 road car with nothing more than Yoko slicks on it at VIR and ripped off a 2:07 on only my 3rd lap inside the car...Porsche 996 is no joke on a road course! that's for sure!!

The 996s driven by pro uys with similar mods to me are doing 2:09s. the clup guys are between 2:10-2:13 in 996s. I'd be happy w/a 2:12. It hasn't happened yet, but I'm close. After I do the PCA club race at summit I think I'm going to come play in NASA GTS Challenge with one or two of my cup car buddys. while you're terrorozomg them, wave as you guys blow past me. ;-)

wow I would think they'd be going much faster? I am within the 2:10 - 2:11 range for the most part consistantly perhaps lower than that on a lap where everything is right on, and sometimes a 2:12-2:13 in traffic, depending on the situation...

I've driven a cup car there and that was amazing...I'm sure a pro in a cup car would be in the low 2 mins for sure... I think with your car you'd surely get a 2:12 ...you know your way around that track well, you've got a good machine, and you're a skillful driver :buttrock ...I'd love to race with you and some of your Porsche buddies...I really enjoy dicing it up with 996's and cup cars...they are truely wonderful machines...as you and I have discussed, there are differences in our lines at speeds at certain points of the track...it's pretty interesting to see how formats can have unique differences in how one negotiates a circuit...

so which GTS races are u looking to do? what about Summit in July at the HyperFest...that oughtta draw a large crowd!

what about DE's or lapping days? lemme know...lets keep in touch :)

sunir, do you run in gts3 or 4 with nasa? if you hp guys are running in 3, i'll get spanked in my ip car :( , last time at vir i tried my best to break the 2:13 barrier but just didnt have it in me...i was running pretty consitent low 14's (some 14.1's) in open traffic on toyos...i'm hoping i can get down close to the 2:12's before o'fest...there's definitely some more speed out there with my car as is...

i'm shooting to do a comp school this summer at rockingham and get licensed through nasa...then start racing with nasa and o'fest would probably be my first bmw race...

I am GTS 3 with NASA... in bmw cca cr at VIR a strong HP car may be in the 2:09 - 2:11 range (I think there's more time to drop though in my case, more development of the car within class rules that I've not done yet, and running a different spring rate and bar setup, and more seat time under race conditions since last year) and a strong IP car should be 2:12 - 2:14 as was seen by Billy Revis and some others in last Aprils club race there...times vary with traffic and other race conditions of course

...hell my car still has original factory stock clutch, flywheel, and shifter all never been replaced parts as when the car came from the factory 10 years ago :eek: ...it's not a completely developed HP car, the engine is stock with shrick cams and chip & injectors...we are however allowed to run at 2832 weight with driver as the car is a LTW M3 in HP...and we must use DOT - R comps (so no real slicks allowed...ussually I use Hoosier R3S04 to compete on)

ugh...you need more power and less weight so you can run in gts4 ;)
