OkieM3 & I are going to replace our RTAB's today. Even with the RTAB install tool it's a PITA, so we have been putting this off forever.
I got new mods that should be here by the end of the week- :redspot
-Koni Double Adjustable coilover struts, shocks, + camber plates- custom built by ProParts
-Momo Mod 80 suede steering wheel
mrdezyne 04-11-2005, 12:55 PM What are you doing with your old wheel? :evil2

II think the new, harder tranny mounts are causing this. In fact, the UUC TME's on my old 97 M3 were given to me by a friend because they caused this vibration on his 99. I noticed the same vibration when we put them on my car, but I totaled it the next week, so I don't recall if it's the exact vibration you have. I currently have the Rouge TM's, but no enforcers like the UUC's, and only feel a vibration when the AC compressor turns on (dropping idle). The NVH in my car is pretty high so it's hard to isolate any one thing, but I also think it's a combination of stiffer trans mounts and worn motor mounts.
Curt,
My old wheel is already spoken for, sorry.
mrdezyne 04-11-2005, 02:41 PM That aight. I thought I'd give it a shot. Since my SRS light is on all the time anyway I might as well give it a reason to be and ditch the stock steering wheel and air bag...... I'll look for one on ebay......
Anthony, make sure you give me a call when your dad gets that old Ford.......

We got right on that today. <-----Sarcasm.
Okay....Lieb and I will be doing the RTAB installs tomorrow....maybe. I'm also gonna to a little lubing on the steering bearing, Marine greasing my front coilovers (again), and swap my rear 450# 7" springs for 5.5" 500# springs. On order is the 'reservoir to pump' p/s hose. I replaced the 'rack to reservoir' hose after it blew, and now this one is leaking. I swear your p/s fluid will find a way out...it's only a matter of time while it searches for the path of least resistance.

I wouldn't call it a going away dinner, although it will probably be my last (pseudo)mofo-event while I'm living down here:(
I do hope to make surprise appearances at future events, though, if I'm scheduled to be in town :devillook
My departure is scheduled for Friday the 22nd. Maybe I'll catch lunch with you guys as I go through Tulsa on that day. I'll be driving the U-Haul with the bimmer on the flatbed behind it with my dad along with the Wrangler...
Anyway, off to do some more packing. I need to have it all put away into a storage unit tomorrow before heading off to Orlando. On the positive side of things, I may have sold the house tonight as-is... As some of you know I've been working on a remodeling project that is far from complete. The relator showed the house this evening to some people who seem interested to finish my work. That'd be great... but I have to know in the morning... the contractor (who is finishing my work) will start in the afternoon if they don't give me the go on the purchase...
Mjollnir 04-11-2005, 11:26 PM Lieb,
I found some information about the Test 5: SI evaluation factor on the gauge test that you showed me.
http://www.bmw-m.net/TechProc/test.htm
Test 5: SI evaluation factor - for engine speed and temp. thresholds being passed.
Display: n = 0 or 1. Engine speed (over-rev) t = 0 or 1. Engine temp.
NOTE: "n0" means that you hit the maximum threshold for engine speed and "t1" means you overheated the engine. I found out from my instructor that this test 5 is false due to software related problems.
I thought it was the other way around? n0= no over rev t0 = no over heat?
If the quote is accurate, My engine has done both :( But the fact that it is flase means...
Anyway, since you showed me this I thought you would be interested.

Let me know if you will be coming through town. I might be back from my trip by then....
mrdezyne 04-15-2005, 10:45 AM Its looking like I'm rained out next week for my float trip. How did the Hooters Beer and Boobs meet go?
Anthony, what did you end up having to do to get rid of that vibration? $1350  . At least its smooth like buttah now.....
Mjollnir 04-15-2005, 10:52 AM Broken Dual Mass Flywheel. Way out of balance, welded itself together.
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4022151&postcount=22
The original Drivshaft vibration under hard accelleration is still there, he thinks its the DS out of balance or a bad u-joint. It's not bad and I can avoid it by not getting on it too early. It's on my list of things to fix.
at least the Lightwieght flywheel was only $500 compared to the $700 of the Stock Dual mass.
I guess the old thread would seem pretty dead huh? oops.
