Any plans other than the auto-x?

Nope. My father and I are leaving here mid-day Thursday. Friday and Saturday night are open, but I do need a good nights sleep.

ProSolo huh... I've been wondering what the deal with that is.... considering running. Do you know if registration is still open? Either way I'll probably head up and get some pictures.

This is all pending I didn't break something in my front suspension like I'm concerned I did last night on a F'ing curb of a speed bump last night. :mad I need to get some streetable camber plates quick.

Registration might still be open, but you'd have to call them.

ProSolo is lots of fun for me. 2 cars at a drag start with a tree followed by mirrored autox courses. Whoever gets back first wins. You get 4 runs Sat morning (2 each side) 4 in the afternoon and 4 on Sunday morning. The best time from each side of the 6 runs counts. :)

Nice! Sounds like a lot of fun. I doubt I'd be up for both days though. I'll probably just show up to snap some photos. You going to be there with the m3?

vjlax18
04-11-2005, 09:46 AM
Yep, the M3 is basically an autox only car now. :) :( :dunno

You need to set aside a few minutes to have a beer!

Hey, John. Sorry I didn't get to your call last week, but I did get your message. We can talk on IM and set up some stuff. There's also a Speed World Challenge race at Road Atlanta this weekend that my brother wants me to go to, but I'm not sure if I'll be attending that or not.

I'll hit you up sometime this week.

Kyle, if you head out there, give me a call if you don't mind me tagging along.

Saturday maybe after the event some guys can show up at the Mellow Mushroom on Pleasant Hill?

F the ProSolo if you guys can get to Road Atlanta. (Although some say if Autox was any easier, they'd call it road racing :stickoutt)

Go to the WC race if you can because I'm usually a total space cadet at autoxes. I'm usually running around working on the car ignoring people... but not intentionally. :help

Nice text message? :stickoutt

You know, every food joint down here is so perfectly clean, it's really amazing. But the damn fountain sodas taste funny. :dunno

Schweet. I would bring my car by, but last time I checked, they have gravel parking spots.

WTF are you doing drinking sodas? You're in sweet tea land now... :nono

Not likely. My car hates me. The squealing is getting worse and its sounding a lot like a loose belt, which I don't really want to be putting tons of miles onto the car with... plus I realized today that I've got a bent/domed ass shock tower from when I hit that damn curb of a speedbump last week. Fixing that should be a hell of a time. Also... the clunk when I turn the wheel is getting more constant. I've got an appt. at the dealer for Monday morning, and I've got my new set of (streetable) camber plates and a Sparco strut brace (to help reinforce the towers) in the mail, so I don't know how much driving I'll be doing before I can get a lot of that stuff squared away... :az

I think I was still running at 5pm. :dunno

I'll be done by lunch tomorrow most likely if I continue to drive the way I have been.

so...how did you do?

Horrible. I can't get the front end to stick, so I end up drifting every turn trying to get the car to turn. Sitting 3rd .08 out of 2nd and .8 out of first. If I can get the car to hook up, I think I could win this thing. The top guys didn't gain much today in the 2nd set of runs, so I doubt they'll gain much tomorrow.

You think they're clean? Most places are nasty compared to how pristine stuff is really far south(AL, FL, LA). The coke(yep, it's all coke down here!) tastes weird because our water is a bit nasty. You should go to a place like Mississippi - everything liquid smells like it has a small log of crap mixed in with it. :confused

[nascar voice] she's a pushin'?
well, I reckon your options are[/nv] (in no particular order):
[british engineer voice]
outside of aero changes, you can...
increase front tire pressure
decrease rear tire pressure
increase front tire sidewall height
decrease rear tire sidewall height
increase front tire width
decrease rear tire width
increase front negative camber
decrease rear negative camber
softer front springs
harder rear springs
smaller front anti roll bar
harder rear anti roll bar
change the weight distribution away from the front
[/bev]

Got any data? what do your tire temps look like? :)

edit:
ooh, do you have adjustable shocks too? single adjustable, or proper adjustable? I forget what SCCA allows in various classes.
was this turn in general? or on entry? exit?
(you using konis?)
loose on entry can mean too soft in bump. loose on exit means rears are too soft in bump or the fronts are too stiff in rebound.

more data please. :D
