i went with 2 others at the same time to oasis and we got it for $125 each. i got 20% and the 2 others got legal. i think a few others went on a different day and still got the same rates since we told them we were all together.

Avoid solarworks in Alpharetta - they scratched my car and I am not pleased with the tint. I think it was $280and they had the car all day.

Oasis is great and the prices are awesome. Sundown does a great job. He did the special pricing when it was only 3-4 people last time, so I'm sure he'll do it again if there are more signing up.

I've had my tint on there since December of 2003 and it still looks perfect.

Hey guys I spoke to Sundown and here is the deal...

He's going to run a special for us for 3 months starting today so as long as you tell him that you spoke to Naveen from the bimmerforums, he'll hook you up with the special price. The price below includes tinting on all windows except the front windshield. He tints the whole front windshield if you want also. But the price does not include a tint strip either.

4 Door BMW - $160 cash

2 Door BMW - $125 cash

Now you also have options you can add on:

Tint Strip: $15
Window Paint: $30

The window paint he explained was for some of the M3's that had a 3" margin at the top of the back windshield that looked like a dot matrix sort of thing. He said that the tint will stick to the dot matrix but if you want a cleaner look, you can paint that 3" margin. So thats the deal I got with him, and there is no minimum amount of people that need to be in on it so have at it...hope everything works out guys. Thanks! :buttrock

Yeah I heard them on the radio too...never even heard of them....Sundown has a better reputation. He does the Corvette Forum Members and stuff. They drive from different states just to come and have their tint done by him. Also as a sidenote: Sundown will be in FL this weekend and won't be back till next Tuesday, so call him now or wait till Wednesday. Oha nd while you guys are over there....check out his Tahoe....he's got a double layer of 5% tint on every window I believe. It's DARRRRKKK.... ;)

Thats why he paints it....it's a permanent paint that he uses.

No clue...never really bothered to ask. I've had my tint from him for about 2 years and it still looks amazing....

The tint he uses won't affect it, I have my satellite receiver inside also with no ill effects.

35% slightly reflective. I like 20%, but rather not have to worry about the po-po's.

He did the work pretty quick. I dropped the car off at 9:45am and he was done right at 12:30, and there was a civic ahead of me getting tint. Everything came out looking great and the X3 looks so much better with the darker windows.

I got 35% put on the 2 front doors and 20% everywhere else. Looks perfect.

Well first off I am exempt from the tint law so they can't bust me, but SUV's are allowed to have the back windows dark(darker than 35%) as long as the 2 front windows are 35%. So cops won't bust SUV's or minivans. They typically come with dark tint on the rears from the factory and the fronts not tinted or very lightly tinted. The X3 had "privacy glass," but it sucks. It wasn't that dark like most other cars with their factory privacy glass. I can take pics today when I get home. The rears are gonna look darker than normal since the back did have privacy glass so with the 20% tint everything back from the front doors might really be 12-15%.

You will have to run 35% all the way around if you don't want to be busted by the cops. IMHO, I think 35% isn't enough. It's ok if you do 20% everywhere else and 35% on the front since the car will look darker inside by the other 20% tint on the car. On my car I have 20% on all sides and the rear glass is limo (5%).

Yea he moved. Going from Pleasant Hill Rd to his new shop for you isn't that bad. Maybe 10-15 mins. It took me like 50+ mins from Marietta.

I'm still waiting for the DMV cockholsters to send me the forms. THey have been called 5 times. Gets routed to an answering machine each time. I talked to a GSP guy who came into my work and he said as long as I am in the process of getting it all done they will prob let me go, but expect a follow-up. I'm not too worried about it, I've beaten much worse offenses in court.

The GB deal for $125 / 2 door sounds good to me -- I need some kind of tint on my new coupe. But as I live in-town, I'd prefer to not drive all the way up to Gwinett or Kennesaw.

Does anyone know of a good place to get tint somewhere in-town? I live in East Atlanta, and there's some ghetto looking places around where I live, but I'm obviously hesitant to go just anywhere with my brand-new car.

Thanks Dean. I am really looking for 20% now. That's a good comparison. I know the privacy glass is there and all, but you can just base it off of the darkness of each other. A funny thing I just noticed though. Look at pic 3 and look towards the main road.

These guys do a great job! Even on the on rear glass, which is tricky.

The lowest I would do on a windshield is 90%, and I wouldn't even do that, because it is a waste of money.

I have no doubt that there are cheaper shops, but I don't shop cheap shops.

I got my windows done today at Oasis. Decided to stick w/ 15-20% tint just dark enough, but not too dark. Sundown did a great job I recommend that you go to him if you need your tint done. He still gave me the group discount so it cost me $160 and was definitely worth it.

I think mine is the Onyx 20. It's completely black, with no gray look to it at all. My back window is all one piece of tint, but he can do the dots at the top differently if you want.

Why don't you just call and ask the guy. And the rear window will be one big piece.

Barry Wood in Snellville does a great job. He works out of his home and is much cheaper than any place around. He does great work and has been tinting for at least 20 years that I know of.. 404-392-8007

I figured people selected tint on the capabilities of any given film (transmittance, reflection, absorbance, etc) as opposed to just color. And since the different product lines offer different properties, I was curious as to what people chose and why.

I guess I totally misread the chart too because I only looked at the "visible light transmitted" column and none were actually 20% even though the name says 20%.

The Ga law allows for +/- 3% variation because it's hard to get it down to the exact decimal. So for 20% tint, look for any #'s that are 17%-23%.
